"What is Love?" - Daily Word #29

There are many definitions of Love. The world's standard of Love is very different from what God intended Love to Be.

In 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, the Bible states...

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails..."

Wow... Now that's a great standard of What Love Is!

What does this mean?

It means that we as His Salt and Light must reflect the expressions of what Love really means to the world around us -- our family, our friends and to others that we may not even know or have yet to come in contact with.

It's definitely not an easy task ahead. Even when I read the scripture above, I know there are many many times where I have failed to reflect the right meaning of Love to my life situations and environment.

I'm reminded that I must rely on His Spirt to lead, guide and develop me to produce the right Fruits. The other thing, is to begin to practically introduce *"Love-into-Action-Steps" every single day.

Here are 11 Simple Ways to "Show Love"...

1. Write a letter to a friend, with no reason at all

2. Bless someone by leaving them a gift and thanking them for their hard work

3. Do some garden (front yard) work for a neighbour

4. Volunteer at a soup kitchen with your entire family

5. Organize a clothes drive for the poorer side of your community

6. Participate in a 5K walk to raise money for an important cause

7. Bake cookies for the orphanage or old aged near your home

8. Get together some neighborhood friends and clean up trash

9. Make a tutorial video of an area of passion or talent, and share it complimentary

10. Give up all electronics for one day and spend time doing things for others

11. Bring someone flowers to just say thank you for all they have done

I'm sure you and I can begin to create a whole list of other ideas to express LOVE to someone in our life.

In 1 John 4:7 the Bible says...

"Dear friends, let us LOVE one another, for LOVE comes from God. Everyone who LOVES has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not LOVE does not know God, because God is LOVE."

Remember, it need not be something that costs too much or take too much time. Always start with simple and seemingly insignificant or small actions. Be encouraged today as you allow Love to Lead.

Blessings & Shalom.

These scripture passages are the main reason I will not join any church. I have participated and even spoken at churches but until I see large percentages of the members in a church who love without judgement or condition, you won't see me joining one.

As much as I want to agree with you @hebrew I just can't. Yes there are many hypocrites and sinners in the church and they are also "everywhere".

And if we make our decisions based on our level of judgment, then I feel everyone will fail us. No one qualifies.

So let me encourage you to take him at His Word and be LOVE in all places... in Churches, Homes, Offices and the World. Everyone needs the Love of God, even people at church. Be the Light and allow God to be God.

Blessings to you and thank you for your comment.

I love this.

I like the action bullet points of different ways to show love to others.

Thank you for sharing this.

May the Love of God be abundant in us and help us grow into his fullness daily.

Amen.

With Love, from Nigeria.
