"Keep Watch and PRAY..." - Daily Word #22
I attended the PlanetShakers Conference 2018 over the past few days and it's already the last day tomorrow. It has been nothing short but AMAZING!
God is truly so so GOOD!!
And you know what, as I write this article it's already 12.34am. My body is truly tired and I just want to get to bed but my Spirit is REFRESHED and RECHARGED.
Jesus shared this in the Garden of Gethsemane in Matthew 26:41
"Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the SPIRIT is willing, but the BODY is weak!"

Jesus asked the disciples to stay and pray with him, but they were so tired. At first they said YES and then their bodies overtook their mind / spirit, and they responded with a NO -- by falling asleep.
In fact, just a few minute earlier, all of them even pledged their lives to Jesus. And Peter (one of His closest disciples) declared aloud that he would never disown the Lord even unto death. But all of them scattered away when the going became tough.
In our daily lives, we too can be easily be DISTRACTED from all that we are called or supposed to do... like Prayer, Worship, showing Kindness, demonstrating Self-Control and releasing Forgiveness, etc.
Our flesh (or bodily desires) cry out for attention and that can easily drown the desire of the Spirit.
What can we do?
Jesus gave us a glimpse into that answer... we should always Watch and Pray.
Because when you and I can Watch and Pray -- we remain vigilant, sharp, on-guard, aware, alert as we appeal for God to help us in our times of need. Press In and Pray In.
And when we are about to fail, we have "Jesus our Righteous King" who points us back to the Father and our Counsellor and Advocate "Holy Spirit" to guide us back into all Truth! Isn't that just wonderful?
You can do it. Even when your body is weak, it is possible.
