"In the Beginning..." - Daily Word #49

I love how in Genesis, the story starts with "In The Beginning" and now again in John 1, it begins the similar fashion.

"In the Beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" NIV Source

This is one of my all time favourite scriptures. It speaks about God + His Word are One.

What some may not know that "The Word" here represents "Jesus", which John also makes reference to in verse 17. John desires us all to stand in awe of Jesus as God and as the One who reveals the unseen God to us, just as a word reveals an unseen thought. Source

And if you replace "The Word" with "JESUS", the scripture above will read this way.

"In the Beginning was JESUS, and JESUS was with God, and JESUS was God"

How amazing is that!!

It's a beautiful exposition that expresses JESUS at the start of it all. He became Flesh and lived among us to understand all we are going through. And He came out Victorious, sitting at the Right Hand of the Father... having defeated Death, Hell and the Grave -- once and for all!

Jesus is ALIVE. Jesus is the LIVING Expression.

It challenges me to get down on His Word

When you read His Word, you are not just reading words from an old historical book. You are reading and breathing the very Life and Pulse of God. That's why many leaders and pastors always turn us back to His Unshakable Word.

Why? Because when we meditate on His Word (Day & Night), we are growing that time and communion with Him. And nothing, can be able to separate us from The Love that He has for us.

He is calling us back to have a closer walk with Him. My encouragement to you today is... spend time reading, listening and just being with Him, His Word, His Presence.
