Our apartment building in downtown Yulin, Guangxi has been a rousing success already.

The only rooms still unoccupied are rooms which her son will live in once they're ready.

Rooms lease for ¥500 to ¥2000 a month, for a one room apartment with kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom, to the entire 3rd floor. In U.S. dollars, that is about $75USD to $300USD per month

Before the apartment opened for business, I posted a video tour of the entire (vacant) building.

Some pictures of the building now that it has tenants - I was unable to go into any of the rooms, of course.

My wife is working on constructing a little sidewalk in front of the building. I hear she has the entire open area on the first floor leased out to a mahjong operator.

The rooms now have numbers on the doors, which helps keep track of which floor you're on while you climb the stairs.

There are several advantages to owning real estate directly in your portfolio, but the most significant is the ability to leverage your capital.
