Importance of Parent's mindfulness while planning a Baby

When I visit the Hospital every Thursday to spend the time with Children, I am stunned and always in disbelief to see the number of children suffering from so many chronic illness and I wonder where are we heading to. Infants are suffering from Cancer. Small children who have hardly had exposure to life are being treated for Cancer, Tumors and so many other ailments. Where does it all come from to them and the more relevant answer to me is; it comes from their parents, their family genetically.

This then means that the unhealthy environment and the lifestyle of the parent has influenced the child to a great extent. There can be other reasons as well; but I find that this is also one of the most important one. It is so important for a parent, specially the mother to be mindful when deciding to have a child. A female may have a very unhealthy lifestyle and when that female gets pregnant the same gets passed on to the baby then no matter even if the female has turned to a healthy lifestyle during the pregnancy period. The way the cells responds to the environment that it is in and creates the proteins determines the health of the baby. Suddenly one fine day if the person decides that I am now going to be mindful about my lifestyle and then plan to have a baby does not always work very easily. It takes a great deal to get the body completely free from all toxins and unhealthy cells developed.

My Heart pains when I see these small children suffering, going through surgeries. Whole day they have the IV on them and still they are smiling but I can feel their energy is very low. They want to play, run, have fun but they have so many restrictions. It is not that the Genetic diseases cannot be cured and one cannot come out of it but that needs a lot of changes in the lifestyle, environment, diet and everything. Our Environment can enhance or damage our DNA. There are many ways in which the environment can damage the DNA. There can be radiation, toxic substances that causes disturbances, excess sunlight, the products that we use, the food that we eat, the stress levels we go through and end number of things.

Yes it gets difficult to be mindful of so many things but for a mother when she is planning to have a baby, it is so important to start planning these changes first in the lifestyle and then go for the baby. Not every women is leading a unhealthy life but there are many who do and this is specially for them. Smoking, Alcohol, Consumption of high preservative foods, it can just go on an on, there are end number of things in today's lifestyle to bring damage to our body. A lot of females go through extreme stress during their pregnancy and this also leads to a hazardous health. Our environment and our interaction with our environment determines the level of these stress hormones in the body. These hormone kinds of shuts down the immune system and starts impacting the body.
I had a lady coming to me for a Migraine healing, she never had Migraine before and developed it during her pregnancy due to excess stress. Thankfully her baby is fine, but the issue is that it has become so chronic for her that she is unable to take care of her baby by herself and most of the time she is on bed.
In Middle East region I see one thing that most of the females wear a very heavy makeup, it is like a competition and in the bargain I also see that the ones who cannot afford the expensive brands go for the cheaper ones. I feel that can also be one of the reason for these ailments passing on to the children. Parabens which is usually found in Sunscreens, Deodorants, Cosmetics is responsible for disrupting the hormone functions and a high risk of developing Breast cancer. Also Triclosan which is found in Personal care products like Hand sanitizes, mouth wash, anti-microbial products influences the Thyroid hormones in the body.

Directly, indirectly parents actions are impacting children. I am not a doctor and I cannot comment much on how things must be functioning internally in our bodies but with common sense I definitely understand that what we give to our body in any way directly or indirectly it is going to impact the body and specially when the female is pregnant it will also impact the baby. Hence it is my request to all parents to be mindful when they are planning for the baby. Not only that, may be on this forum people are already mindful but then they need to keep spreading this word around, educate the ones who are not in alignment.

I am planning to start taking up some counselling sessions for the Mothers at the hospital. Language is a barrier for me now, so I need to find a good translator who can not disrupt my message and also will need Hospital authority approvals. Let's hope for the best and move on.

As someone who does not have kids and will never have I think it is important those planning to have not to go around telling everyone about it. I think that ties in well with reducing stress for the mommy if they all just stayed home and avoided people. Maybe @mimismartypants can keep this post in mind for baby 5.

So they can party without judgement lol?? Also you right. Why would mommies need to go anywhere. They are mommies now. They have no lives. There is nothing else but mommying.

But seriously it's strange. Maybe it's just the type of person you are. I'm not sure. On the other hand some mommies are super healthy and do everything right and still have a baby that has troubles. So maybe it's just how the world works. Not in our hands. And even more unthinkable, population control. Not a nice thought though..
