WEEK 2 Giveaway!!!! A steem-powered NOTEBOOK!

in #charismapal7 years ago (edited)

Think of us all like pen pals!

Did you ever have a pen-pal in school? If so, you know you sent letters to and from one another and awaited the day to open the letter from your new friend, whom you have not met. The two of you have created a bond just by sharing words. Sometimes you may have added a special picture or something other than just a letter, but something they can use, maybe a keepsake. Think of these contests as that, you and I pen-pals from across the land, sharing knowledge and laughs, and when you have friends you care for traditionally you want to send them a gift, right?

So I figure since the giveaway is a little notebook, I would like you to send a letter to anyone you wish telling about you!

This contest is going to be a bit different.

Last week I offered a free calendar magnet, this week I am offering a steemit notebook.

  • Write a letter to whoever you wish, use the tag charismapal
  • When you send the letter, I will assign you a number
  • at the end of the payout from this post I will select a winner through a number generator
  • That's it!

I also would like to introduce you to another fellow steemian who is putting on a great contest also.

What do you have to do?

Just send him a picture of life around you. Just use your own original pictures taken from your phone or camera and that's it! So head over to @deliberator's blog and check out his awesome contest open to all, no restrictions, no gimmicks, just a winner guaranteed!

I also want to thank @tecnosgirl for providing me with the awesome steem-swag she created to share with all of you awesome people!

Thank you again for dropping by and if you want to win, just write me a letter telling me a bit about you!

First, let me tell you about me.

I love to read mysteries, mostly psychological thrillers. I love anything to do with nature, unless it is snow, then I only love to see it in pictures, or on the mountains far away! I do not like to be cold, ever! I do not like to listen to the music my son brings around me, but my mom didn't want to hear mine either, so I keep this in mind. I live in a town that used to be one of the greatest places to be, well around here anyway, but after the factories have all gone, it is pretty desolate. The people I once knew are either gone, as in for good, or gone to another state, or so far gone in the heroin epidemic that it's almost impossible for them to turn around. I loved this place as a child. I had so much to do. The children here are almost doomed unless they have a means to get out. The mentality here seems to be like that anyway. Like there is no other choice, but if you know me you know I believe we all have a choice. I believe every person across the world is free to be themselves and anyone telling them it isn't right is just doing it wrong. I think people try to push their thought processes on others in such a way that it can be too much and the cause can be lost. My dream for each of us is to be happy. That seems such a hard goal for some people. They consume all of the things the world has to offer buying and buying yet never happy. Man, what's that like. I hate it for people who live in the fanciest of homes off in the subs that have more domestic issues than the low-income homes the media seems to report on. There are so many things I could ramble on about in this letter, but I guess I will close this for now. I look forward to learning about you, my new friend from across the land.

Until next time,
@charisma777

great idea :) I like it... I am thinking of a few ideas already ;)

thanks @davemccoy I figured I'd add a bit of personality behind my little contest and get to know others at the same time

I like the idea and we can write to anyone correct?

yep you can write any letter you want just drop it in the charismapal tag although it wasn't that way at first i like the idea of going to anyone, so go with it!

I just told @deliberator the same thing. I love all these contest you guys are hosting! I seriously don't know where to start. I have such limited time and want to get to everything. The struggle!

You said you like to enter contests, lol, now they are coming in like crazy!!! I say do what you can and enjoy just getting to know others. It's what you've been doing already!

What exactly is a "steem-powered notebook?"

@erebus good question, I thought i put the image up there oops. here it is. without the text box of coursesteemnote.PNG

Look at you re-gifting. LOL glad to see you getting involved in the giveaways...

I mean you gave me a lot of paper, lol I know i posted here before about my love for paper, but geez! LOL I'm kidding of course. I really think it's awesome all the things you have created just for steemit and I want to share with the world the works of my one true friend! @tecnosgirl is a multi-talented woman and someone you should be following if you want to learn about, well, everything!

I am glad to see you doing a giveaway. I like what you are doing and resteemed it for ya. Hopefully some of my followers will enter

Sweet thank you! If they do then that would be awesome too. The more the merrier. Who knows maybe a bonus gift will be in the package! Stay tuned!

I will write you a letter specially on a different ground but not today. I will be looking out for the best letter.

Ok that is perfect. Do you know the best letter? "O" lol, do you know why it is the best letter? Because it never ends!

Lol! I never knew.
thats funny 😀

LOL i used to tell my mother that but maybe not so nicely. She would ask what do you not understand about the word NO, so I would tell her The O it just keeps going round and round. yeah, so needless to say I would be doing dishes for weeks just ask @tecnosgirl lol she helped me get them done many days!

You found me the best letter when you entered round 15!!! Thank you again my friend!

This is awesome! Great contest! I just wanted to stop by and say thanks for your support, leave an upvote and invite you back to play my contests anytime. @markrmorrisjr and here I find you doing the same thing! BTW, stop by my blog and check out 8 Minutes to Sunday if you like mystery! I'll be back by to participate more fully, if I get the time! Thanks again!

Thank you @markrmorrisjr that is really cool of you to do, i see you have a lot of people who follow you and that you actually take the time to come back to them and share the love on their page as well! I love the story you wrote last week and am definitely going to go check out your 8 minutes to sunday, I absolutely am a fan of mystery, more on the psychological thriller suspense, but will be checking your newest story out in a moment, thank you again for stopping by! Enjoy your day/night!

This is a really cool idea @charisma777 and a great way to get to know more people. I saw on a show some time ago about your 'little town' and its' 'big heroin problem'. It's so sad, but like you said, people can create and change their own destiny. And it does seem in a world where people have so much 'stuff', there's also the highest rate of drug abuse, both street and prescription. Perhaps people need to find happiness from within and not from consuming more and more material goods.

Apparently I too could go on and on about this :) Again, love the concept...nice job:) Cheers!

There is definitely a lot to the problem and it saddens me to walk around here and see what it is doing not only to the way people think, but the community is broken, I have two children and wanted to come home to make better relationships in this town, i regret it at times, my old hometown, is no longer what it was, I just hope that with a little change on my end, maybe just maybe, I can do more for my community! I see the sense of community on steemit, and wonder why it's so different here, than it is in my 3d life, do people still care here and if so, where are they. So hopefully, in my search to find those still caring individuals I will happen on to a few who share the same vision as me, bringing "Home" back to my "home-town"

That's very admirable of you; I think individuals just see it as a problem which is 'unsolvable'...for a million different reasons. Like you, I have to believe that you just haven't found the right people yet. What comes to mind is one of my favourite quotes by a cultural anthropologist named Margaret Mead:

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

That may be the truest thing i've read! Thank you @lynncoyle1

Yes I believe so as well; I just changed my profile 'description' to the quote...:)

Love the idea here; it's a great way to meet new people!
