May 30 Days Writing Challenge - Day Seven: Name 3 Things That Must Be Done Immediately To Make Steemit.com A Better Experience
This is the seventh day of the May 30 days writing challenge proposed by @dragosroua. And here's my answer to today's question.
FrontEnd user customization
Steemit looks just about the same for every single user except for the banner and the little bio information. This is a social project and now that it is reaching 1M users, it should consider adding some customization capabilities to the front end, so users would be able to define a personal template to show their information.
Groups
This one is obvious and @dragosroua has also mentioned it and I am glad to see Steem is pushing hard on this part of the code to release it soon. There are many communities out there that can benefit from Steemit but may want to keep a "private" area for the members of the community so they do not get comments from non-members. If Steem wants to grow fast, it has to offer a tool for those communities to decide they want to use this blockchain for their communication purposes.
Wallet
It is still too complicated to deal with all the transfers on your wallet. Some users may want to keep their info private and for sure they may want to avoid seeing all those messages on their transfer history. It should offer an easy functionality for newbies and maybe leave an advanced section for the more experienced users.
Here's my previous day's challenges.
- Day Six: What Is Your Main Reason For Staying On Steemit?
- Day Five: What Are the Top 5 Crypto Assets You're Investing In Now?
- Day Four: What Are The Top 5 Most Relevant Witnesses On Steemit? Why?
- Day Three: What’s The Best Thing That Happened To You Because Of Steemit?
- Day Two: If I'll Get 1000 STEEM Tomorrow, What Would I Do With It?
- Day One: How Did You Get On Steemit? #challenge30days
please follow and resteem @david786
At the moment alot of the 'group' type activity happens on Discord - it will be interesting to see how the functionality is introduced to Steem...
I think lots of people are getting sick of the endless memos.. I have just learnt to blcok them out and just tell myself they are giving me free money! But yes a spam filter of sorts I think would be a good way forward - maybe a similar way to how email is filtered to spam folders?
