History of Ferrari Enzo
Ferrari likes to craft limited-production cars for their top-clients like the 410 Superamerica or the 365 California Spider. In 2002, Luca di Montezemolo, Ferrari's then president, wanted a new hypercar powered by the V12 named after the company's founder, Enzo Ferrari, in order to celebrate all the Scuderia’s successes in Formula 1 with Michael Schumacher.
The Ferrari Enzo is rooted in Formula 1 technology with a chassis in carbon fiber and aluminum honeycomb for less than 100kg. The body panels are made of carbon fiber and Kevlar. Ken Okuyama, Pininfarina designer, designed the coachwork with angular lines to be close of the aerodynamic of the Formula 1.
The car was introduced in 2002 at Paris Motor Show. With only 400 cars produced, it was an huge success...
Technical specification
Wit 6-speed automated manual gearbox, the Ferrari Enzo has an 5,998 CC DOHC V12 engine developing 651 hp, 3.3 seconds to reach 100 kmh and a top speed of 350 kmh. To stop the beast, we retrieve 4-wheel Brembo vented carbon ceramic disc brakes.
