1966 Ferrari 275 GTB by Scaglietti (Sold)

This weekend at Amelia Island, this superb 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB by Scaglietti was sold for $2,205,000 by RM Sotheby's.

History of Ferrari 275 GTB

The 275 GTB was the replacement of the 250 GT series, presented at the 1964 Paris Motor Show with the 275 GTS (designed by Pininfarina more luxuous and confortable) . The 275 GTB is more a sport car, designed by Scaglietti, the Italian automobile coachbuilding, famous in the 50's.

Technical Specification

The model 275 (both the GTB and GTS) was the first Ferrari's non-racing model to have an independent suspension on the four wheels. For the engine, we retrieve the Colombo Engine, designed by Gioacchino Colombo and used by Ferrari between 1947 and 1988, the last version, 3286 cc variant of the V12 for up to 300 hp. The long-nose was installed in order to reduce the undesirable high-speed lift, with a torqye tube to improve stability. With all these specifications, this late 275 GTB** is one of the most desirable iteration, and we see the price go north (one of the 58 long-nose with all this features)...

For the interior, this 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB was finished in Rosso Rubino over a Nero interior with leather seats. It's truly an icon of Italian styling and design.
