Stop Wasting Food !
Food waste or food loss is food that is discarded or lost uneaten.
As it may seem but the question arises ,How much food do we waste ?
The answer simply is "Probably more than we think "
As it is seen the causes of food waste or loss are many and occur at different stages of production, processing, retailing and consumption. It is also noticeable that loss and wastage occurs at all stages of the food supply chain or value chain.
Few reports found the prime reasons behind the food waste !
Globally, we throw out about 1.3 billion tons of food a year(It is insane amount)
or a third of all the food that we grow!
In poor countries, most of the food waste is on the
farm or on its way to market.Read more here
Few ways that can be applied to reduce food wastes & can actually be implemented in our daily life :
- When cooking, don't over-serve food
- Save – and actually eat – leftovers.
- Store food in the right places.
- Treat expiration and sell-by dates as guidelines.
- Donate to food banks and farms.
It is our duty to take care and make proper usage of foods and we should keep in mind that there are people out there who are not even getting enough foods for even a whole period of the day ,so think twice before wasting any food !

True, we waste some insane amount of food, without thinking about the needy ones. There are people dying cause of hunger because they are not fortunate enough to buy and eat food, which we just left uneaten on our dining table!

We get the food easily, so we waste it without realizing for a minute. that is the sad fact. To remove this bad habit it needs to learn at a young age to feel guilty for wasting food by our elders...
