"Salvia" means "save" in Latin. It means that meadow sage can save the world from suffering. The medicinal composition of meadow sage is not so high like her siblings medicinal sage (Salvia officinalis) , but it also has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties, used to treat colds, fever, cough, diarrhea, night sweats, gingivitis, irregular menstruation, and skin diseases etc.
“Salvia”在拉丁语里是”拯救”的意思, 其意是说鼠尾草可救世人免于疾病之苦. 草地鼠尾草的药用成分虽然没有她的同胞兄弟药用鼠尾草 (Salvia officinalis) 那么高, 但也具有抗菌, 消炎的功效, 用于治疗感冒, 发烧, 咳嗽, 腹泻, 盗汗, 牙龈炎, 月经不调, 以及皮肤病等.
The edible part is flowers and leaves. The young leaves can also be used for seasoning, such as cooking for fish.
食用部分为花和叶. 嫩叶也可作调料, 比如用于鱼的烹饪.

不一样的，如果近看花的形态是完全不同的，这个鼠尾草是唇形科，“唇形”，顾名思义，像嘴唇。
