Henloo, I'm excited right now because one of my favourite Steemit writers, @mdbrantingham, will be giving his book for free today. The Kindle version of his fantasy novel, The Vathiriel Blade, will be out for free on Amazon all day today, Saturday 14, 2018. (I just got word that it will be out for free tomorrow, Sunday 15, 2018, too! So if you're busy today, you can relax on Sunday too and get this book to pass the time)

Who is @mdbrantingham?
All I know about his identity is that he's a writer, probably from the US, but that's not the side I'm interested in. As the hard-working minnow I am, I was checking some contests a few months ago, trying to get a bit more funds to promote my content, and I found that he had taken part in the same contest that I was planning to enter.
Living with curiosity is a funny thing. You explore so much that sometimes you don't even know how you got to a place, but you know that it's a jackpot. Once I got into his profile, I knew I'd hit gold. I'm always looking for great writers, and he is one of the best ones I've seen on Steemit.
I found sublime poetry that touched my senses and inspired me, and there were very bold and creative stories. What is common about all of them is that they are all very well-written and they inspire me to become a better writer myself.
Why am I promoting his novel?
I've been following him ever since I first found him, and I've been leaving him comments and opening my mouth in awe every time I read him. Even though his strategies for success on Steemit seem to be from another world, they somehow work.
And now, he told me that he'll be having a promotion tomorrow for his novel, so how could I not be excited? I get to read one of his only novels for free.

Wow! Thanks for getting the word out. What a post! I just put up a post about it as well. It gives links to info on the book and as well as reviews. Thanks for the support. I'm blown away. This is the first promotion I've run using Steemit as a way to spread the word so it will be interesting to compare numbers on download statistics from Amazon to see what kind of effect Steemit had in comparison to promotion days in the past.

I wonder too, if you have the ability to read where the users came from. Because maybe people will also come from the search functionality in their Kindles. I for one used to search for free e-books when I browsed the shop (I haven't done this for a couple years, but in my first years of having my kindle, I did use this because it's easier than googling for pirated .mobi editions)
Yes you get a detailed report telling the country of the download, and those are mostly US in my case, plus a few Australia and Deutschland, and a spattering of a few other random countries. The number of free downloads is normally pretty consistent because I'm pretty meticulous about the way I do the promotions in order to gather data, so if Steemit downloads are significant then the numbers should show that.

It can only be read on Kindle apps, since Amazon cares a lot about the protection of copyright and won't let the book be stored in an unprotected storage (one they have designed or approved for proper protection of their material).
He has a lot of lovely poems and stories, and I always find myself thinking about some of this works that have made me reflect about my own writing. :)
eeeeek!!! so sad, thank you for the passionate recommendation, i felt it! i will definitely read some of his stuff, i have plenty to read from some of the writers, i just do not want to have it in my subliminal as it may come out unknowingly. i a researching rules for now. thanks again!

You can click buy and make the order and when you have internet, you download it, but note that it only works if you have an Amazon Kindle (of any edition). I have a Kindle Paperwhite, so I can send it directly there for reading.
