How to Make Perfect Instagram Profile
If you try to build an Instagram profile with only a bare basics you will soon realize that it will not land you any popularity at all.
Even the people who decide to make a profile based on the most popular topics basically flunk right in a beginning.
The basics include a username, visibility set to public and profile photo that can be either a brand logo or your headshot.
Your bio has to be shown inside of 150 characters describing who you are and what is your profile about, plus your location and link to your website or blog as well. Using a hashtag or two in your profile can add additional visibility in searches.
If you are serious about your Instagram account, avoid emoticons by far. If you are building something less percussive, you may add a few well-chosen emoticons that will resonate with your audience.
You can't get followers on the Instagram if you have shitty photos. Unless the damaged photography is your artistic edge. Then it is ok.
Make sure your photos are fun to look at, high quality and in case that you are making photography you may edit them for the better impression.
Hashtags are the way to get a huge traction and followings. You can use up to 20 per post to reach the audience. This is much more than Tumblr where you can utilize only first 5.
For reaching the higher number of followers you better chose some condense and focused topic like travel, artwork or food.
It is the best not to overpost, so keep your posts down to maximum 4 per day.
You can also find an adequate auto-post application to publish posts on your behalf so that you don't need to worry if you skipped a day.
Communication is the key... if you are not an A-lister be sure to follow back, like and comment on your followers and people who enjoy your Instagram.

Well I make sure I post it during lunch hour, and after dinner time, where most people check their feed in instagram. Timing matters a lot.

It still depends, you can start off knowing when your friends uses Instagram and look at their feed since they'll surely be the ones that likes our photos :)

Yes, I agree. Hashtags are really helpful. I gain more followers and likers when I decided to use hashtags in every post I'm making.
I saw many Instagramers stuffing their posts with the hashtags, I thought it is some sort of a hype, but it seems they are really helpful.
