Daily Dose of Sultnpapper 07/26/18> Time to straighten up a few odds and ends and……I might just need your help.
Every so often I would take a Saturday daily dose and use it to kind of “clean things up” around here, so many things have just a little something that may need mentioned after an initial daily dose post but not necessarily need a whole another one for just a sentence or two worth of information. It has been a while since I have done this, mainly because the Saturday edition of the Daily Dose has become the SBI Saturday Give Away edition.
So a couple things from some posts of late, the Mrs and I turned the calendar over and are headed for 25 years, we had a great Mexican supper over at Julio’s and she was surprised with the roses and chocolates, it really was a surprise because I don’t normally do the “extra” special things, just the “special”, so you can read into that whatever you want.
Monday also saw the return of the youngest boy from his West Virginia youth group trip. He said he was thankful to be back on flat ground again, he isn’t a fan of the mountains. He said that even though he was ill for about a day and a half he still had a good time. No one was injured or drowned in the white water rafting or at the water park that followed the rafting. His group did a carpentry project on little old wood frame house; they extended a front porch on the place and re-decked the existing porch along with adding rails around the whole porch.
On Saturday the 21st, I made a post about MAX PAYOUT $100,000.00 , this is where you come in , I stated I believed I could reach that max payout if everyone got behind this post and pushed the hell out of it. So far things aren’t looking that bad, I just ran the numbers and we might come up a tad short, my guess would be around $99,998.75 short; if the price of steem stays about where it is right now. It isn’t too late though to vote it up, miracles have happened before; so it ain’t over until it’s over.
Speaking of posts, I did have the honor of receiving one of those Curie up votes for the post I did on 7.25.18 that was about the lost art of giving directions. It is truly an honor when a daily dose gets chosen, we all know that yours truly is far from being a real, excellent , terrific, polished, good, average, blogger but what the hell, I am having fun and I am serving a purpose. "What purpose is that?", shouts the lady in the back.
Every group in life always has that one person that they can point too and say, “Whatever you do, don’t be like him.” So I am that guy for the steemit community; and if you actually like what I am doing and would like to give it go; go ahead and throw #ulog on your post and number it starting with 001, that is what all the other folks on here who are taking after what I do are now doing. How does that saying go about imitation is the greatest for of flattery or something like that?
Back in December, when I was out in California, I ended up taking part in a scavenger hunt as part of team building exercise and the lady who organized it said she did all the locating of the things and places we needed to find online using her computer. On Wednesday, @thekittygirl did some sleuthing of her own on one of my post with her computer and determined where I ate lunch and that a landmark I was in search of no longer existed. I got to thinking, I might just start a little contest or game associated with the SBI give away in the future somehow using Google Earth and some clues but I will have to figure that out another time.
That is going to do it for this edition; I have to go see where I can rustle up $99,998.75 in up votes in less than 48 hours to hit our goal.

Glad you and Mrs Papper had a good night out. I only just noticed your "Max Payout" post, probably because I was away most of last weekend. That glittery elephant is indeed bizarre. We have a few bizarre things like that, some of them representing animals and mostly on roundabouts. But one of the most bizarre things I've seen as I was driving by was some ACTUAL elephants in a field not far from where I live. It turned out that a circus was in town and they were giving the elephants a bit of exercise.
i don't have a "bucket list", but if I had one that elephant would have found it's way on there, I just could never tell from the highway what it was made of and why it was always so darn shiny. Now I know, at least those two things, the rest is still a mystery, but I can live without knowing the rest.
Here I think the elephants are all but done on traveling with the circuses, I thing at the end of this year the only one that still hauls them around is stopping that practice. To much expense and to much flack from the PETA people.
Glad your son made it home in one piece and none the worse for wear. Seemed like a long way to fix a porch. I am sure that there were folks closer to you that could have used the help.
That was very sweet of you, giving your wife flowers and chocolates for your anniversary. Glad that you had a nice dinner out. Nice to celebrate these occasions with family.
I do like the way that you do a weekly wrapup. It brings a nice ending to the week.
Thanks Cici. The food was good and the flowers and chocolates were a big surprise for her. The boy making it back was perfect timing as well. I learned a lot more since he has been back about this "work trip" and might just elaborate a little more on that in a daily dose.
I will try and get a little better on the wrap ups, they have been hit and miss. Thanks for letting me know your thoughts on that as well.
