Spending time with my Mom and Learning new things from her
My mom who is 78 years old, I see she always tries to keep herself active all the time, not only physically but mentally also. She loves to play games on the mobile phone and keeps sneaking out time in the day to play her games, which I find it little funny and I also tell her Mom it's not good for your eyes, so she replies back saying, Mind your own business.....hahaha.
Now she is here with me, I get a lot of help from her in the Kitchen, as it is I am not much of a kitchen person and find it very boring to cook meals everyday. But she enjoys that and wants to experiment new things all the time. I wonder why I did not get that from her 😃😃.
Other thing I noticed with her this time is, she keeps writing something in a small note pad, so out of curiosity I checked with her what does she keep writing. She said she is making a note of all similar words. So she keeps thinking of all similar words and makes a note of it in her book. Like "New and Knew". I was amused with this, so I asked her why does she do that. Her response was that she wants to keep her mind active and working sharply and she can also pass it on to the children in our family just for knowledge purpose.
She has also been a teacher all her life so her mind is always working in this direction. But I really liked this idea of her how she keeps her mind active with these type of exercises. Dementia is one major problem in old age and such activity can help prevent decline of mental ability. Keeping physically and mentally active at old age is so very important. I don't know how it will be with me, but I will surely keep all these learning's from my mother for my old age. I think I know enough but I feel I need to learn a lot still from her.
I always feel that it is good to have elderly people at home, they can teach us so much from their experience of life and that's the best way of learning. While I am enjoying spending time with my Mom, hope you all are enjoying reading my blog.

My mom is getting senile, so I have a few years before she doesn't remember me anymore and hope to learn new things too. Glad you have extra time to do so.

Ohhh my dear that's sad. It's worst when your most dear ones fail to recognize you because of health condition. They just become like kids at that stage.

I don't know what to do without my mother @nainaztengra as she had become my arms and legs and whenever I want something I call her.

It’s really amazing you get to spend so much time with your mum, and very handy she can help you with the cooking in the kitchen.
That’s a really clever way she has to keep her mind active, I’m trying to find a way to give mine a rest at the moment it feels like it is running nonstop all the time!

When she is around, kitchen is one area which I feel relaxed about as she takes over most of the stuff. Yes I can see myself in my old age...hehehe
