We move from one pavilion to another. Under the feet of the quiet creaks of the old flooring.

The old mansion of the beginning of the last century housed a photo exhibition, which presents the works of the best Russian photographers-naturalists.

This exhibition is held as part of the wildlife festival and we managed to visit it on the last day.

It is amazing how photographers, traveling around our country, take pictures of the most remote and beautiful places in Russia.

Looking at all these shots, you understand that behind each photo there are thousands of kilometers of the passed way, long hours waiting and many years of preparation.

Photos seem so alive that it seems you can hear the murmur of the Northern rivers, the crackle of branches under the crouching predator or the noise of wings fluttered from a branch of a bird.

Of course amazing skill and quality of the photos.

The exhibition takes place in an old building, which is considered one of the iconic buildings of St. Petersburg's Northern modern. It is noteworthy that the interiors of this house still preserved a large number of ceramic furnaces of the past era.

In each room we were able to see these various fireplaces, which differ in pattern and color of tiles.

Such an amazing exhibition, thank you so much for the report and photos:) All the fireplaces looks very beautiful, but whats up with them? Why there is one in every room?:)

At the beginning of the last century there were no centralized heating systems and all rooms were heated by stoves, fireplaces. St. Petersburg is too raw a city most of the year. Without them it is not to do. Wealthy citizens could afford to have fireplaces in every room of their mansions. It was the duty of the servants to heat the stoves. This mansion had a long history. It was originally built in 1740 for the court tailor of the Imperial court. Later it was an apartment house. Then the building changed owners several times. Later, in 1904 - 1907 this house was reconstructed, but all the stoves and fireplaces were preserved. Thanks for Your question, @georgeboya . It's always nice to see interest :))

Thank you so much for the background story, such an interesting building:)
