My Life's Journey - Basketball Season Is Over - Saying goodbye's, going home, and exciting news. ๐ โน๏ธ
Hi, there my amazing friends and Steemians. It has been a while since I checked in here, and I will do my best to change that now as my basketball season is over and I do have more time to catch up with you guys and write on regular basis. That is if I can snap myself out of laziness. lol Or, maybe, I should ask somebody to do it for me? I am sure @zen-art(Petra) would love to do it. She has been wanting to beat me up for a long time. I think the only reason why that did not happen is that she has not figured out yet how to reach my head as she is 50cm or so shorter than me.lol
My basketball season is over. We lost the semi-final series 3-2 and we were eliminated. We lost to a stronger team, but we were very close to surprise everybody and reaching the finals. We fought like lions and I am proud of my team. The only game I would like to get back is the game 3 which we lost by 3 points. We just did not play as a team and it cost us losing the series. As the last game, we just could not make any shots and they made pretty much everything.
We fell 15 points behind early and even came back down -6 in the last quarter, but did not have the strength to pull through all the way. I am not even sad for losing. I know my team and me did our best. There is no reason for us to keep our heads down as we gave this team who spend double budget for the season than us a run for their money. Just that game 3 we lost by 3 points. Only that game stayed with me.
But, that is life. Sometimes you give it your best and you lose or fail. Nothing to be ashamed of by any means. If you gave it your best, keep that head high and keep looking forward. There will be more games and more opportunities. Actually, don't look too much forward. Enjoy LIFE NOW. Right this moment. You will never get the NOW back. We have not invented time the machine jet. Even we did I would not go back and change a single thing in my life. Because they all created the person I am today. Life goes on, and I plan to keep living this amazing gift we all got with a smile on my face every day.
I got to say even though we lost in the semi-finals I don't feel like I lost anything. I truly enjoyed my 8 months in Cosenza. And, that is all thanks to the people I was surrounded with. My teammates were all amazing, funny, and most importantly good-hearted people. And we really did have fun. I enjoyed sharing 8 months of my life with these guys. We might have lost in basketball and competition sense of the way, but we gained so much on creating amazing memories and friendship part. I am sure we all wanted to be a little longer, but it does not matter because in my book we are life winners. And, I am sure friends I made this year in Italy will last longer than any championship we won.
Basketball is way bigger than just winning championships and putting the ball through that circled thing attached to the glass board. It goes way beyond what happens between those four lines of the court. And, this year I have experienced that this more than any other year in my basketball career. All thanks to a good basketball organization and the amazing teammates-friends I was surrounded with. So how did we all say goodbye to each other? Well, this picture will tell you all.
We said goodbye to each other the same way we spent our time together. We spent it laughing and recalling all the funny situations we went through this season. We spent it enjoying each other company. I have no doubt in my mind I will keep in touch will of these guys as they are all amazing good-hearted human beings. Maybe my title of this paragraph should not be saying goodbye? Because true friends, never say goodbye. True friends say see you later.

I am now back in Croatia looking over my back every day because I know Petra is planning to beat me up one of these days. If she has figured out how to make up for the height difference. lol Besides that when I came home brother and father waited for me at the airport with some great news. My brother got engaged to his girlfriend and will soon be off the market. Honestly, I have no idea why he waited this long. lol He is getting old and it is TIME. lol jk So I took my father, brother, and his fiance for dinner to celebrate my return home, great season with no injuries, and my brother's engagement. Life is good and I am grateful for all the amazing gifts it has been showering me with. I am truly blessed.
I have to give credit to my brother. He is an inteligent guy. He went together with his fiance to the store and let her pick the ring for herself. He did not ask about the price. Only thing he asked is this?

He gave her the credit card and that was it. lol He did not have to worry about picking the right one or anything. But, the only side-effect of this is how much it cost him? lolol I am just kidding. Nera is an awesome girl and I am sure she made a "rational" decision when it comes to the cost of it? lol I am incredibly happy for both them as they have been living together for a long time now and it was time to make it official.
I was joking with Nera that now she is going to have back problems because the stone on that ring is so heavy that it will make her lean on one side more. She will be all out of balance while walking. lol
What is next for me? Basketball-wise I have no idea. I had a great individual season so finding another contract will not be a problem. Soon I will make some a highlights video of my season so you how clumsy and bad of a player I am.lol I have 4 months or so until the next season to think about where basketball will take me next.
Soon my dad and I are continuing the work on rebuilding our house and I am incredibly excited about it. Our next project is replacing 40 year old bathroom. I have one more progress post on the work from last year I saved to share this summer before we start with work again. And, also, I have so many more amazing post to share with you guys from my travels in Italy and the post about Cosenza where I spent the last 8 months of my life. It will be amazing and exciting summer for me and I am looking forward to simply enjoying this amazing gift we all got called life
