Russia and Blockchain Technology
The Russian government will begin testing the land registry system based on the blockchain early next year.
According to a draft resolution published by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the Federal Register, Land and Trademark Office, Federal Tax Service and Moscow government will evaluate the test by July 1, 2018.
Relevant organizations shall submit and publish the final results of the review by 1 September.
According to the display of the translation file:
"The purpose of using block chains is to increase the availability of information in property registries, to protect property rights, and to the extent of citizens' confidence in the real estate market."
Seven months ago, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev asked two government departments to begin investigating the use of blockchain technology in the public sector.
"We need a thorough analysis until we apply it to our management system, which includes public management and the economy ... I instruct the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Economic Development to consider the use of the 'digital economy' in the process to prepare for the development of the 'digital economy', "he said at the time. "The high cost of running the Rosreetr map site makes it the first choice for new technologies such as block chains," said Maxim Oreshkin, Russia's Minister of Economic Development.
Before Russia issued a statement, other national and regional governments also announced their own land registration projects. As Sweden, Ukraine and the UK have been tested, there are two Brazilian cities and India and Andhra Pradesh are also exploring.
