Amazon registers Web domains related to digital currency and ethereum
According to online news records, the Amazon e-commerce giant has registered three Web domains related to digital and ether. According to information from “https://www.whois.net/”, the three domains are registered:
amazonethereum.com
amazoncryptocurrency.com
amazoncryptocurrency.com
These domains were registered on October 31st. These domains belong to Amazon Technologies, a subsidiary of Amazon.com, to which the previous patents of the e-commerce company were attributed. The telephone numbers were included in the registration documents that relate to the Amazon Legal Section, although the representative of that news office has not been able to access it yet. Where registrations were reported for the first time by industry news site https://domainnamewire.com/.
At present, it is not entirely clear what the purpose behind these domain names is. As the site “https://domainnamewire.com/?s=amazon”, said Amazon may be simply moving to protect its brand. Previously, in 2013, you registered "Amazonbitcoin.com", which currently takes you to the Amazon home page - and this arrangement also suggests protecting your registration. But instead, Amazon could be aiming to avoid confusing the digital currency and the Amazon currency, a virtual currency launched in 2013 that acts as an online payment method for customers.
