🗞 SEC Rejects 9 Bitcoin ETF Proposals

On the basis of perceived inadequate “resistance [framework] to price manipulation”, in an insufficiently sized Bitcoin derivatives market, the SEC has rejected a total of nine application to list and trade various Bitcoin ETFs from three different applicants (ProShares, Direxion and GraniteShares).

The overriding concern of the SEC lay in its evaluation that the exchanges on which the ETFs had been proposed for listing – the NYSE Arca and the CBOE – had not met “the requirement that a national securities exchange's rules be designed to prevent fraudulent and manipulative acts and practices”.

🗞 China Prohibits Crypto-Related Promotion in Beijing’s Chaoyang District

Many reportedly believe the ban, first covered by a local news app known as Jwview, could be extended to other districts as well, according to Cointelegraph correspondents in China. The correspondents further noted that Chinese media has conflictingly reported that the ban both does — and does not — apply to other areas in Beijing.

🗞 Electronics Giant LG Focuses on Development of Blockchain, AI, IoT with Branding Strategy

LG CNS, a subsidiary of South Korean multinational conglomerate LG Corporation, has announced a plan to strengthen its enterprise offerings in seven key areas including blockchain, according to an official press release published August 22.

LG CNS is planning to release new “strategic” brands for each of the seven platforms of newly developed technologies — blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), smart city, smart factory, robot service, and smart energy — in order to promote the “fourth industrial revolution” with its enterprise portfolio.

🗞 Bitcoin Price Defends Key Support Despite ETF Rejections

Bitcoin is teasing a minor rally today, having defended key support at $6,230 despite a string of bad news.

At press time, the leading cryptocurrency is changing hands at $6,400 on Bitfinex – down 3 percent on a 24-hour basis. Meanwhile, 94 out of the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization are flashing red, according to CoinMarketCap.

Even with the nice Break Out on the BTC and now the Pull back, the STEEM is not moving a lot. In fact, I think we are inside this triangle and that we are approaching more and more of the Appex and this is why the moves are so small. If this scenario is correct, we should have a Break Out very soon and before the intersection of the 2 lines. Let's see in which direction we will go...
