🗞 The SEC Is Weighing a Bitcoin Futures ETF – Here's What That Means

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will decide on two proposed bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) this week – but what are they weighing exactly?

ProShares, the tenth largest provider of ETFs according to CNBC, has two proposals in the running, both based upon bitcoin futures contracts approved by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in 2017.

What's more, this impending decision comes at the heels of a more recent ruling by the SEC to delay (until September, if not longer) their determination on a physical-backed bitcoin ETF put forth by VanEck and SolidX.

🗞 MetLife Subsidiary LumenLab Pilots Blockchain Insurance System for Diabetes

Singapore-based digital innovation center Lumenlab is testing a blockchain-enabled insurance solution for diabetes sufferers, according to a press release published August 20.

Lumenlab is a subsidiary of financial services provider MetLife and has reportedly developed the new project within the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s (MAS) regulatory sandbox.

🗞 Thai Central Bank Defends Cryptocurrencies

In the high-profile Thai crypto fraud case involving an actor, Thailand’s central bank has clarified that the fraud is not related to cryptocurrency trading, but a general misuse of money. Thailand has recently legalized seven cryptocurrencies, authorized seven crypto firms, and the Bank of Thailand has green-lighted commercial banks’ subsidiaries for crypto activities.

🗞 Apple’s Steve Wozniak Plans to Get ‘Involved’ in Blockchain Project for First Time

At the ChainXchange conference, held in Las Vegas, U.S. August 13-15, Steve Wozniak revealed in an interview that he plans to participate in a blockchain startup, praising the benefits of the technology. He said:

“I’m involved with, very soon, my first time being involved in a blockchain company. <…> Our approach is not like a new currency, or something phony where an event will make it go up in value. It’s a share of stock, in a company. This company is doing investment by investors with huge track records in good investments in things like apartment buildings in Dubai.”

We broke the support line in red some hours ago. I was hoping that this support line in red would have helped us to go test the resistance line in orange but this support line was not strong enough... So now we are having a new drop on the STEEM which could make us test the support line in red around 0.80$.

Anyway, anything is not yet lost as we can see also very little candles during this new drop. This very low volatility could be the first step to see back a UP which will go upper of that resistance line. Let's see which direction the market will take.
