There are several factors as to why this may have happened. First, the Chinese Yuan has risen somewhat, but also Coinbase's website went down at a certain point. Go to their Coinbase Status Page to see for yourself. A lot of people use Coinbase who are new to Bitcoin, and as things became to come back online the price of Bitcoin has been going back up.
