Episyrphus balteatus

in #biology6 years ago (edited)

It is a fly-flyer Episyrphus balteatus, it mimics, making it look like a wasp or a bee, so that it will not be eaten by birds. Larvae feed on decay - an insect very useful for gardeners. The fly itself eats pollen from flowers. On the photo - apple tree flowers.
