Hello world! I am trying to promote gridcoin and decided to use cat videos as advertisement, as we all know that cat videos are one of the most watched videos on the internet. Lol!I love my cats too and I think they are super smart.

How can we make gridcoin even more successful?
If gridcoin is going to be a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency then more people are going to have to start using it. I think one of the major problems why people are not using gridcoin (in addition to not knowing about it) is that the official gridcoin “wallet” can be difficult to use.
If you are a gridcoin investor or a researcher you need to download the Gridcoin Research wallet and load the entire blockchain onto your computer. This can take a day or 2 to download and synchronize. While this is essential for the gridcoin blockchain to work in a secure fashion, for someone who just wants to hold and trade gridcoins this might not be a practical way to keep gridcoins.

So Gridcoin developers: have you thought about making a desktop version or mobile version of a gridcoin wallet that does not need a full download of the blockchain? I think a wallet like the desktop and mobile wallets such as Exodus: https://www.exodus.io or Jaax: https://jaxx.io would be great if they had gridcoin as one of the currencies that could be used for transactions.

In the meantime, I just found out there is a mobile wallet (for Android or iPhone) that does include gridcoin as one of its currencies and it is called Coinomi: https://coinomi.com
If you want you can even store and receive gridcoins in paper wallet
So if you are interested in having some gridcoin and are not ready to commit to investing or researching to earn girdcoins then this is probably the easiest option.

BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing, pronounced /bɔɪŋk/ – rhymes with "oink") is a distributed work platform that has been around since 2002 (16years now) and rewards all participants with a score.
