Locust Reign - New England Brewing Company

Beer Review

Locust Reign is an 8.2% alcohol/volume Imperial Double IPA made by New England Brewing Company in Woodbridge, Connecticut. New England Brewing Company is a small batch craft brewer that creates some high-quality tasty beers, from IPAs to Stouts alike. I've had a few of New England Brewing Companies Double IPAs and this Locust Reign might be up there as my favorite. From the can to the beer, this was a damn good Double IPA.

The Can

The can of the Locust Reign features the king of the locusts sitting on his thrown. You can see the hop guts beneath his spikey feet. A paragraph on the backside of the can reads:

“And the swarm fell down upon the unsuspecting tribes and devastated the landscape with spikey teeth. What once was regal, now banal. They multiplied and spread, leaving a barren wasteland where they soon reigned as the almighty. Clear days were gone.”

The Beer

The Locust Reign was a delicious Double IPA. It's cloudy and foggy like a swarm of locusts in the distance. The beer tastes like tropical fruit and the aroma agrees. The Locust Reign blend is loaded with Galaxy hops. Overall it's a smooth and juicy beer at 8.2% alcohol/volume. This is the first time I had the Locust Reign in a can. Before this I tried a growler fill of it. It's a great product by New England Brewing Company and I look forward to trying more in the future!

It is incredible and it always amazes me that every beer you publish has its history, just as the design of the can also has a meaning and that is very interesting and it attracts a lot of attention, in this case this beautiful and curious can brings as its main protagonist a lobster sitting on his throne, and I'm surprised that you explain why the lobster there, it's incredible and admirable true friend, without any doubt it must be very tasty since it has that tropical fruit flavor that in any food or something, the tropical fruit is always a unique flavor. New England Brewing Company, is a real beer brewing company, they deserve honors and admiration.

Thanks for sharing this, Ive been searching for some good brew houses to visit for my winter getaway. I think I might have found the solution to my quest.

upvoted/followed :))

No problem. It's a rather small brewery/tap house in a bit of an industrial complex, but they crank out some delicious stuff! Enjoy the quest :P

What would you say is the worst beer you ever tried? I would have to say I can't stand fruit beers. My family keeps buying them for me, and I pour them down the drain.

Haha I do not like light beers such as Budlight, Keystone, Busch light or any of the other mass produced watered down crap. It grosses me out. That being said, back in the day it was all we drank!

I don't care for many German beers. I find them to be overated. The Irish and British know how to make some good stuff. Especially their dark beers.

Good to know. I'm off to Dublin next Thursday! I already anticipated a whole lot of drinkin' :)

Be nice to the bartenders, and get as much information as you can get out of them. Take lots of photos. You're going to have some great content for your posts. Be careful what you say. The Irish women have a temper ;) Play it cool.

I appreciate the tips! Thanks my friend. I like the Irish fire ;)

Such great beer should be drunk with great friends! Beer is a social tool for many business deals. Once again a great beer with a nice history from your review!

Hey @jeffjagoe, BEER! I need beer soon. Thanks for sharing, cheers!

Cheers and Happy Friday!

What a nice work!
It good being an enterprenuer..
I hope very soon you will start better things than this.
Welldone!
