Spin Cycle #3 - New England Brewing Company
The Spin Cycle #3 is an 8.2% alc/vol American Double/Imperial Style IPA brewed by New England Brewing Company in Woodbridge, Connecticut. This is a very cool series of beer, because it is different every time it is brewed. The alcohol by volume ranges from 5.5% to 11% batch to batch and from 55 to 100 IBU's. This particular bath was #3 and dubbed the 'Dosiolis'. It's a combination of New England's Dose and Coriolis beers, using Mosaic, Citra and Nelson Sauvin hops. As of now, this version has only been brewed and canned one time and I was lucky enough get my hands on a few.

The Explanation
As explained in the picture above, New England Brewing Company uses the same malt base for all Spin Cycle batches, but they change the alcohol percentage and use different hops to insure the hops at the brewery are in constant rotation. It's a fairly cool concept for a beer and it's always fun to see what the next version will be.
The Beer
Like most beers from the New England Brewing Company, the Spin Cycle has an awesome can art. Featuring a washing machine full of hops, this sea-foam green can is nothing short of impressive. The beer itself is quite delicious. The malt flavor was strong but not too overwhelming and the taste of Citra hops provides a sweet yet tart sensation. New England Brewing Company is always producing high quality beers and the Spin Cycle does not disappoint. I wonder what the next batch will be...

Wow the alcohol ranges from 5.5% to 11% ! So if you are lucky your beer might almost be as strong as wine !

Citra and Mosaic now there is a hop combination I can get behind. I like the idea of the beer being different everytime, I'm surprised they change the strength by that much though, I guess it's to keep the malt and hops in balance though. Also not photos of the can on a washing machine - I see what you did there.
