Who Made Your Beer - Now We Will Know

in #beer7 years ago

According to CNBC

The Brewers Association (BA), the nonprofit trade group which represents "small and independent" craft brewers, has announced the launch of a new seal to designate beers that are produced by "independent" craft brewers.

Homebrew started the craft explosion!

This is great news for those who are concerned whether a big company or a craft brewer made your beer. A lot of craft breweries are being bought out by big companies and now we will know who brews what.

"As 'Big Beer' acquires former craft brands, beer drinkers have become increasingly confused about which brewers remain independent" said Bob Pease, president & CEO, Brewers Association in a statement. "This seal is a simple way to provide that clarity—now they can know what's been brewed small and certified independent."

As a homebrewer I find this refreshing, like a good Wit beer!

This is awesome, will look out for this. I can't tell you how many times I found out a small brand beer was actually a subset of a subset of like... coors 😑 Hoping this will help indie brewers get a leg up!
