A good (Saffa) friend of mine, Jacqui, in London is making good progress on spreading the deliciousness that is Beer Bread in London. If you're in the London area lookup Le Befana, and try out their beer bread. There are too many awesome flavours/mixes to list.

If your'e not anywhere near London, then this video also shows you how to make your own simple cheesy beer bread from scratch. It's easy enough to add ingredients and flavours to come up with your own favourite after that.

Tell your friend this video is awesome! The production value is amazing. I really want to try making some beer bread now!

Thanks... that's me in the video :-) It's the pre-mix batter that's hers.

P.S. I took a quick look at your profile and see you love your craft beer too... definitely gonna be keeping an eye out for your posts... I'm busy developing my own beer with a brewer mate of mine... That should be ready in a month or so from now.

Haha, my bad! You make great videos sir! Is that really South Africa? It looks so tropical, I thought I was suddenly whisked away to Hawaii. It's beautiful there. I am in Chicago and it's pretty cold. Yep, I really do love the craft beer. Have made so many things from beer like brownies and marinade, but never bread. I have heard you can take yeast dregs from your favorite beer and actually use that as the yeast for the bread. I have tasted an amazing sourdough this way at a brewery in the past.

For sure... That's my back yard actually. I normally film/promote random venues across the country, but logistics didn't allow for it this time... so we just filmed at my place :p

I've done a lot of touring through America (we go compete in The Jack, American Royal and World Food Champs every year in Oct/Nov), but that's in Florida... substantially warmer than Chicago :-)

I'm gonna go research (aka steal) some of your recipes, and definitely look into the yeast dregs as an ingredient.

Awesome backyard. The places you visited are great, the snow here is beautiful for a minute...still great town for beer and cuisine.

Please feel free to steal away, I did post a pretty good hazy beer recipe a few weeks ago with full brewing notes.

Keep us in the loop with the craft beer please. Just last weekend we paid a visit to Bernies breweries to have a lovely red ale!!

Oh you'll hear about it :p

I'll have it all over social the moment it's ready for the shelves :-)

Where is Bernies? I enjoy a good Irish Red... but my preference is an IPA. I'm drinking OCB's IPA called "The Dictator" in the video... they're the guys that will be brewing my beer for me (http://www.ocbrewery.co.za/about-us/) - heard of them?

Bernies is close to Rietvleidam on the Saint George hotel side. Turn off at Willow featherfarm nursery and just before the tar end on your left hand. Have not heard of ocbrewery but will have a lookout for them!

Lekker... that's very close to me... will have to go check it out.

Beer bread is one of my favourites!

Same... "I love cooking with beer... I even use it in my food occasionally" :p

Good job! I've got a beer bread kit I received as a gift. I cringe every time I have to sacrifice a beer for a bread, but once the beer bread is slathered in butter it seems like a small sacrifice.

Thanks man... just don't be tempted to use a beer you wouldn't normally drink. The "if it's not good enough to drink, it's not good enough to cook with" applies to beer as well. As you say: "It'sa small sacrifice" :-)

Thanks for watching!

That is solid advice. I have made that mistake a few times and then it doesn't taste that great.

... and don't forget the beer. "You can beer without braai, but you can't braai without beer" :-)

I couldnt agree more 🍻 cheers to that..Friday is around the corner!

So you can braai, cook and bake??? You're a multi trick pony hey. love the videos and the simplicity of baking bread you've shown. 5 stars man.

Hahaha... thanks! If you can eat it, I can probably braai it... except ice-cream. I'm still looking for away to braai ice-cream :P

Hahaha. Now that's a recipe I that would get you on WORLD map, Ice cream braai

True story! ... That and rice... I tried, but they keep falling off the grid and into the fire :p

That would actually be an awesome attempt video hey.
