Information Finding Championship - Season 1, Round 19 entry: Oil Cleansing Facials Anyone?

in #beauty6 years ago (edited)

So you know about the 10 Step Korean Moisturizing and Cleansing technique, but are you able to do it completely? If you don't like to do too many things to deep cleanse your face, because heck you don't have all the time in the world, then this technique is for you.

I first did this back in 2014! During that time, I didn't know about the Korean 10 step practice or any natural skin care regimen at all. When I oil cleansed my face it did feel cleaner afterwards, all my skin oil bumps or whiteheads disappeared.

What is the Oil Cleansing Method (OCM) for?

OCM is a natural method of deep cleaning the face. If you don't want to have a facial because it's painful then this is a better alternative.

This method is said to have been used even during ancient times. You can do this several times a week or month depending on your skin type. If you have lots of acne, try this non-medical face cleansing method.

What you will need:

  • Essential oils (basic: Castor Oil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil)
  • Washcloth
  • Hot water

Depending on your preference you can use any oil ratio, but I suggest to use more Olive Oil than Castor Oil because the latter is strong and a concentration of it can be a bit harsh to the skin. Hey pure castor oil can be used to "kill" warts naturally you know, so don't use a lot.

If you want a fixed ratio, you can use 1:9 maybe. Some people suggest a ratio of 1:3 up to 1:10. 1 part is the Castor oil and 3 to 10 parts for the Olive oil. The oilier your skin, the more castor oil you add.

How to Oil Cleanse:

  1. Slather and gently massage your face with a combination of the oils for a few minutes. Use enough oil, like the size of a coin on your palm or a bit more and rub it in your hands first before applying generously to your face.
  2. Put and press a warm wet washcloth over your face after massaging the oils in so your pores will open up and absorb the oil. Make sure to let the warm washcloth stay on your face until it gets cooler.
  3. Wipe ALL the oil away gently using the same washcloth. Do this step 1 to 2 more times as needed until you feel the oil is gone. If you feel like once is enough then that's fine too. Don't overdo it.
  4. To close the pores, you can splash some cold water on your face afterwards then pat dry. Or some people rub a piece of ice on their skin. Another option is to use the washcloth technique again by dipping it in cold water then put it on your face.

For any skin tightness afterwards, just spread a drop or two of olive oil on your face or use a light moisturizer.

And that's it!

If you will try it, feel free to share your experience in the comments!

XOXO,
