Today we will be decorating another part of the house, the lower level where many people will gather over the upcoming Christmas season. Aunts and Uncles and cousins, oh my! Brothers and sisters and all their little fur babies. What would life be without them? Family rules! Gone are the childhood squabbles that I didn't forget about. Kidding, of course. Six brothers were not always easy to live with but there were times that they were so much fun and to be honest, I cannot imagine life without them. Life is beautiful, yes? There is so much memory attached to the sounds of Christmas. People, places, even things. But, it is the people that my mind is on. What are they doing? For some, that I have lost touch with, where are they? Are they happy? Do they reminisce about days gone by, when our paths crossed on a daily basis for a year or three? I make a mental note to pick up the phone and call some of those people who once held a special place in my heart- when life was in a different place and time.

Do you have anyone in your life like that? That you used to know so well, they were an extension of your own arm and yet, for some reason, they are no longer?

Oh, the winter, she cometh… beneath my very surface. The silence. The preparing. The drawing in of my heart, my heart… for in the spring, I will grow, to give, that I may be the bearer of thy fruits again, and again.

The decorations are full of silver and sparkles. I can feel Christmas all around me. Glitter me happy with the season of joy. People are remembered today and new memories will be made all around me.

The circle of friendship goes round and round like a wreath. It keeps on going and growing. It becomes more beautiful with each layer of decoration that you put on it. Oh, yes.

The glow of the light fed the illusion that was building in my mind. Only the sweet memories remain inside me, the ones of days gone by.
