Announcing the winner of 10 SBD from the previous week

The question from the previous week was "What is the most embarrassing thing that's happened to you?" You can read the full post here

The winner was @fernandam who responded with the following:

"We were at a water park during the festive season. My youngest (who was 2 at the time) and I were playing in the toddler pool area. He then screamed from across the small pool that has to go make a poo, and proceeded to drop his pants and make a poo in front of all the moms/dads/toddlers that were there (which were many as it was holiday time). I think I was in shock and thought that it was a dream because I just stood there, mouth open and frozen. I could feel the eyes of hundreds of people looking at me and I think I turned a hundred shades of red in that moment. Thankfully, it was a quick one and I managed to get a grip on myself, hold my head up high and go clean his mess. I was mortified, but the little man didn't see anything wrong with what he did. We vacated that spot and I had a heart-to-heart with him about bowel movements and when to do such things. Man, I laugh now but shit, that was terrible!"

The question for the Steemit community today is: What is the best piece of advice you've ever gotten?

I believe that all the best advice is from the One who created everything!

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself. (Luke 10:27)

That's indeed great advice. Jesus is full of great advice, and the words of the Bible has certainly transformed my life. :)

“Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away”

I do not know if this other one can participate but it does not matter, I would like to share it:
"To knock at the door is not to enter." It means that sometimes we have to do things Without shame, for example asking for a raise, which would mean that asking for the raise is not bad and that the worst thing that can happen is for him to say "no"

That's great! Love it. :)

Yes very true. Thanks for sharing.

You won sir!

dont stress before something happens or you will stress 2 times.

not sure if my translation is clear enough but this is the best advice i ever got.

That's so true. Great advice. A bit like saying don't worry about something before it happens, because it may not and you've stressed over something that didn't happen.

The best advice I've ever gotten is from the Bible to be honest. It's in Acts 16:31 where the apostles said this to the prison guard: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shall be saved." This was of course in response to the question that the prison guard had asked the apostles. His question was this: "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" ◄ Acts 16:30 ► I honestly didn't know how easy it was to get saved!

"If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair." —C. S. Lewis

Good stuff brother! Upvoted, and resteemed. Also, followed! :]

Thanks brother. Yes, that's so true. Love C. S. Lewis books.

I can relate with that quote A LOT! I was raised Muslim myself and came to believe that Islam is a big fat lie and the truth is in the Bible. You can read my testimony on my weblog if you're interested! :) https://whydoibelieveinjesus.wordpress.com/

Wow, thanks for sharing your blog Markus. Would love to hear more of your story. Followed you here and also on Twitter. Will be reading more of your blog, and would love to chat more about your story. Bless you brother.

PS. Saw that you are also in Aus. :)

Yeah I noticed that too! I wasn't born here though! You'll read about that in my testimony :P Cheers for the follow mate! I look forward to it. I have been blogging a lot about my spiritual journey. The first post on my weblog is about my background and testimony and the rest are a mixture of theology and apologetics! :)

I didn't get your follow on Twitter! What's your Twitter id?

Just sent you a tweet. :)

Cheers!! Got it! :P

"You can't control your circumstances but you can control how you react to them."

My first job was being a sales assisstant in a vintage clothing shop. And one day, my boss with his wife were there and we were talking about some clothing, and he said "You see, young people throw broken things away. When I was younger, we didn't throw broken things away, we tried our best to repair them. Thats why me and my wife are still together after 55 years. And thats why I'm 73 years old, and wearing a Levi's jeans that i got on my 23rd birthday." That was 6 years ago, and still makes me think nowadays :)

I'm impressed that his jeans size is the same after 50 years!

well he was about 170cm tall, and very, very skinny:D and the jeans had like a hundred patches on them. I guess he didn't grow much since his 20s:)

Haha, I wish I had the same body type! To be wearing the jeans I wore as a 23 year old... (though I'm not quite at 73 yet)

Wow, that's great advice! Congrats on your 55 years being with your wife.
Oops, just realised that was your boss. :)

The best advice l've ever gotten is to grow in love for God and for others.

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:2

The best advice I've ever received was probably from my parents. It was to always stay organized. Whether it is with your schedule or your life in general. There have been many expereinces where I would get into many problems for the sole reason of me not bothering to organize my day or setting up a plan for the month.

If you have a written down list of things that you have to do during the day, you will be able to achieve them much easier. You won't have to remember those things in you head and then suffer after forgetting them. As soon as you finished the first task, you check your plan and you move to the next one.

Without doubt, always stay organized in your life. "An organized day leads to organized life."

"Change your mind, it's OK."
