wasteland dwellers by hauke vagt.jpg

and here are some painting process pics. i started the thing with a simple 3d landscape built in game-guru and then painted on top of the screenshot. also used some photo-textures.

Excellent work, Hauke! Glad to see you are still around. 😃

Those characters are so cool and interesting. But I would be scared of meeting them in the middle of the night.

oi trincowski i will be sticking around ! :) thank you so much !! and no worries they look weird but they are harmless wasteland-dwellers! :D

Hauke~ What a wonderful and desolate piece you brought us today * ___ * The atmosphere, the colours and the characters ... all seem to populate my mind with a sense of strange life in a post-apocalyptic word where human faces can no longer be seen but must be protected within masks and protective gears...

That single light source from the back of that travelling guy is so tiny compared to the gloomy landscape, but it does shed a happy little warmth :)

Gorgeousssssssssssss

I love your stuff so much, Hauke <3

heyyy thank you so much veryspider ! and yes it is indeed desolate and apocalyptic and you are totally right about the masks! it is like a sign of the times -walking around with heavy baggage and just a tiny light to show the way.

Now I see something different from your arts. I used to see trains that are about to hit the wall on both sides of the trail. Yes, I remember them. 😊 It is nice to see variations from time to time. You did a very good job!

Are those "structures" buildings or just posts". That is a very cute mutant that looks so overloaded and tired. Where is he going at daybreak?

hey @macoolette thank you !!! i think at daybreak he is going home- taking off the mask and relax.... :)

Ah, nice one. Perfect timing to enjoy the weekend. 😄

I looooove love your green grim dark and cute dystopian artworks <3. They really remind me of a very pretty adventure game, which I still have to play yet hehe, but I bought the game because of how grim and pretty it looks like.

Congratulations for your curie vote, Hauke =).

hey scrawly thank youuuu! what game are you talking about ? i love games !

This is the game, very pretty and always reminds me of your delicious art: Machinarium.

Very ingenious, @papersmell. You've basically got yourself a world of wasteland landscapes going. I'd never heard of game-guru before, but I take it's a graphics app specifically for building them for games?

Pretty amazing. I've enjoyed everyone of these I've seen so far.

A curie well deserved. :)

hey @glenalbrethsen yes game-guru is a game engine i got on steam- very easy to use and compose 3d environments. 3d programs like blender or 3dmax are cryptic and difficult to me and game-guru is just easy fool-proof.
thank you so much for your kind words it is much appreciated !

I just checked it out and it looks like you could do all kinds of things with it, including build a game! Nice. I've tried 3D Max and I agree, not intuitive or user friendly at all. I only have one Windows machine so I'll need to see the specs on it to see if it will even work with game guru or not. Looks like they've got some deep discounts going right now. Or is that all the time? Anyway, pretty cool.

End time scene, seems normal green planet as we know is gone, probably the inhabitants destroyed it. Of course no vegetation then gas masks and the houses on such height to get more air may be. I like how you created the digital work, starting simple and not so scary but the colors and dramatic sky as well as may be elderly with sticks, make everything looking like end time scene. Great idea and beautifully made.

many thanks stef1 !
