Why the dryad cries
Why does the dryad cry? well... it would seem that the answer to that question is obvious if you see the full picture
This is an ancient sketch I did when I was in highschool. I recently decided to give it a digital brushup
As with most of my scetches from that period, it is made on checkered paper, so step one is to clean up and make layers. I usually make a background layer, a colour layer for the main objects colours and a top layer for the linedrawing. it is a very simple technique, but it works well when you have to draw with a mouse(I dont have a wacom cintiq - yet)
When the layers are made it is much easier to colour it in, almost like coloring by numbers :-)
The final result. Pretty obvious why the dryad cry I guess, But maybe she is just making up her mind to kick the puny pests away

You do not need a cintiq.
A regular (without a monitor) tablet is in many respects better.
You are already doing the coloring with a mouse, so you are already using the mental muscles needed to move your hand in one place, effecting the screen in another.
The Turcom TS-6580 is a really nice, really cheap tablet.
(but that is the american rebranded name. Huion is its real name? And I think it is the 580, or 5"x8")
I recommend it, because after Wacom, it has the best drivers.
And it really is much cheaper for a much bigger tablet, and their isn't much difference.
Thank you for the advice. You are probably right I just owned a tablet a few years back and since it was an android tablet I was very limited in my choice of drawing program. I guess that has changed a lot since then.
