Quick sculpt #1
Sometimes I want to make a long post explaining workflow or design process.
Today I just want to share a single image with you. It is a sculpt I made a while back in blender. I am planning to make this a regular feature, showing you some of my sculpts

I basically just start with a simple sphere and then sculpt it like i would a lump of clay. No plans or thoughts just my hands working away. It turned out quite nice I think. Sculpting is really a very intuitive and powerful way of working both in real life and digitally.

Darn that's beautiful.
Very detailed work there !
I tried sculpting using Sculpteris back when I got into 3D design, but never went too far with it.
One day, I'll try and sculpt the face a bit more.
Yours really looks like it was made in clay :)
Thanks. It depends very mush on the maturity of the sculpting tool (much has happened within the last few years) but of course it is also something that needs to be learned. I have had the opportunity to try both a 3d mouse and a VR setup with handcontrollers, but I still prefer my good ole trusty 2d mouse. Probably because I know how to use it effectively
It's true Blender seems to have an amazing amount of features.
Once I get a new computer, I'm definitely going to immerse myself with that tool, see what can be done, though I believe my main attention will stay on learning best how to do 3D design for printing.
I'm playing with the idea of designing an entry for a MyMiniFactory competition to create a set of 3D parts that'd make a set of aluminum cans with their tops cut out into a miniature shelf XD
Course, I have to balance that with my Master projects and my (rather urgent XS) search for a Master Thesis Internship.
I'd love to get my hands on a 3D mouse and a VR set, I think it could open up some interesting possibilities.
It's one of a long list of things I'm going to try and purchase at some point using Steemit profits if I can :)
Steem on, Mr.Evil ;)
I can't believe how much that looks like it was sculpted by hand out of a lump of clay! It still makes me wonder though, why not just sculpt by hand out of a lump of clay :) I mean, for many things I get the reason to use a 3d program like blender. I love it nonetheless - great personality on that face :)
I deliberately chose the color of the rendering to look like red clay, to make it look more like a real sculpt . You are of cause right that I could equally well have sculpted it in real clay. The reason i did this one digitally, is that it was an exercise in sculpting .... digitally :-) Both have their uses and I enjoy both . One great thing about digital sculpts are that they make much less of a mess on the table .
