PART 3

And so we have arrived at our Third Installment in our series of "10 Amazing Visionary Artists You've Probably Never Heard Of".

As a member of the Visionary Community I have had the great privilege of discovering underrepresented artists that are pushing the boundaries of artistic possibility. It is a great honor to bring these creative titans to Steemit and embed them in the blockchain forever. It Begins...

Gerard Di-Maccio

http://www.di-maccio.com/

About

Gérard Di-Maccio was born in Algeria when it was still a French colony, back in 1938. He studied art from the young age of 14. His grand-father was his first admirer who motivated the young boy by hanging his first painting in his shop window.

Di-Maccio’s parents, being aware of the passion and talent of their oldest son, decided to leave their home to move to Paris. Several years later, the great achievements of their son proved to them that moving to Paris was the right choice. The move allowed the young artist to develop his talent.

In Paris, Di-Maccio studied art at the prestigious 'Academie des Beaux Arts' and by the age of 16, he had already begun to establish himself as an exceptional and noteworthy artist. His initial fame came from the illustrations for children's books edited by some of France's most famous editors, such as Castermans, Hachette and Bias.

In 1965, he won France's highly competitive examination to become Professor at the Beaux Arts Academy in Paris. His victory was due to his thesis about Morpho-psychology.
Click below to see the full thesis created by Di-Maccio in 1964.

Throughout his teaching career, Di-Maccio developed his own artistic style. His initial exhibitions in Paris earned him first prize in group shows on numerous occasions. His first solo exhibition was in Belgium and later in Paris, where he became a leading artist. By 1979, the artist decided it was time to dedicate himself exclusively to his creative urge, and express himself on canvas. He left his teaching career.

His first exhibition during this period was at the prestigious RA gallery in the historical centre of Paris. It was a tremendous success.

Soon after, Di-Maccio was recognised as the leading artist of a new artistic movement, referred to by the press as "Visionary Art". He has remained to present time the leading figure in this movement for other visionary artists and interested art collectors all over the world. His annual exhibitions have consistently been highly acclaimed by the entire French art world, one of the leading international art hubs. -http://www.di-maccio.com/biography/

Chris Dyer

http://positivecreations.ca/
@chrisdyer on Steemit

About

Chris Dyer grew up in Lima, Peru till age 17, where he was involved in 80’s skateboarding, 90’s surfing and street gang activities. He eventually moved to Canada to study art for many years. Today he is based in Montreal, where he works out of his home studio “The Positive Portal” with his awesome artist girlfriend Arianne Cardoso.
These days he also spends half of his time on the road, making and spreading his art worldwide, as he explores many cultures and himself. By now he has been able to reach over 30 different countries, which has been a chance for him to learn much from a variety of cultures. These powerful experiences has helped him create a flavour of art which fuses many cultures into a spiritual oneness of unity within diversity, which can appeal to all, yet is owned by none.

Chris’ art is rooted in the skateboard culture he has been part of since a young boy, as early as 1986, when he would draw his own board graphics. By the time he left school he focused on fine art done on broken skateboards, as to give new life to that defeated wood. That eventually led him to working in the California and worldwide skate industry, doing graphics for a variety of well respected brands. More recently, he was Art Director of California‘s Creation Skateboards, which he took to the next level with their skate video “Soul Harmonics”.

Chris’ exploration of inner worlds and ability to juggles mediums, styles and themes has made him stand out in the different art movements he is part of. Because of his unique voice, and high productivity, Chris has become one of the leading figures of the North American Visionary Art scene. This position has given him the chance to act as a bridge between that spiritual movement and less typically “conscious” art scenes he is part of like street art, and skate art. THough he apreciates the scenes he is associated with, he wants to break boxes and manifest the “Oneness” he belives is there beneath it all.

Because of the quality in Dyer’s work, it has already been exhibited in successful solo and group shows in galleries and museums around the world. He has also been featured in many magazines and books worldwide, including his own hardcover coffee table book published by Pennsylvania’s Schiffer Books. A coloring book for adults is due to be released later this year via “Last Gasp” Publications.

In 2011 he released a full feature documentary, Positive Creations, which has reached several thousands and inspired many. These days he has a series of video Webisodes called “The Artventures” which cover the different lands he visits to paint spray paint murals left and right. Chris has also been offering a variety of different Art Workshops as he travels those lands, to share what he has learned with the youth.

Other than that, Chris manages his own Art brand, Positive Creations, which offers a variety of quality apparel and artsy products. Despite Chris’ healthy Press through the years, he is still reaching out from the underground. It is the uniqueness of his art, and a solid social media presence that has helped him find his own following. Chris’ biggest joy is to make his fans happy and to meet up with them at the different events performs at, so make sure to catch him somewhere and give him a nice hug. - http://positivecreations.ca/about/bio/

Rick Jacobi

https://rickjacobiart.com/

About

After twenty years of doing commercial illustration, I left that line of work and became a high school art teacher at a charter school for the arts. During that time, I essentially became reborn as an artist. Since 2008 I have been painting what is frequently referred to as "visionary art". Having retired from teaching in 2014, I now devote the bulk of my time to my personal art.

My interests and influences include: metaphysical and esoteric studies, ancient cultures, lost civilizations, semiotics (the study of signs and symbols), sacred geometry, comparative religion & spirituality, the nature of consciousness, tarot, UFOs, aliens, etc.

I also had a career as a professional musician, but that's another story... - https://rickjacobiart.com/about

Geoglyphiks

About

In my own experience of relationship, I've known the highs and lows, made mistakes, and pushed myself to grow when I knew it was time to re-invent myself, reconnecting with my own source of inner strength and love. This has made me a far better person and provider in partnership.

As an artist, it's my joy to translate what I've learned into imagery that imparts these enduring lessons of balance, practice and serenity.

It is my hope that this artwork will serve you, providing an ever-present reminder in your home of the loving wellspring in all of us, inspiring you to tap into that feeling of romance and deep inner fulfillment. -https://geoglyphiks.com/blogs/news

Wow! I didn't know any of these arttists and I loved them, especially Di-Maccio. Thank you so much for sharing them :)

Sweet, sick to see @chrisdyer and @kaliptus on there. All of them are amazing (particularly dig Rick Jacobi's style) but I own original paintings by Chris and Kaliptus lol

Yeah Adam. Both of those guys are great. Rick has become a buddy of mine over the last year. He's a veteran of the visionary arts.

Is Rick on here? Stoked to see more people I'm familiar with joining up here :)

Not yet I dont think. I have been sharing a lot of my Steemit posts on Facebook and tagging other artists in them. A few have made the leap. I think the learning curve is a bit intimidating and if you don't understand the currency/economic concept it can put a damper on the interest level. But eventually, when folks begin to understand the blockchain and cryps gain traction in the mind of the majority, things like this will be a cake walk.

It's not THAT complicated to use it just as a social media site, and for artists it really offers a better way to present art in a social media context, being able to format posts and add pics this way etc..

I can relate ro that! Same thing with my friends on facebook...not many have made the leap and who did don't use their account yet!

I agree with you on the crypts front, when the majority understands it more, there should be a migration.

This is amazing, thanks so much for sharing!

Of course! More to come:)

Gerard Di-Maccio & Totemical were my favorites. It's truly fascinating to me that all of these artists all seem to share a similar vision and perspective. I mean they are all very unique in their own ways, but there's most definitely a similar style here that reflects throughout all of them. That's truly inspiring to me!

Thanks so much for sharing this @elohprojects!

PS: Today I created an awesome new post about the power of saying "no!". I'd love to hear your thoughts! 3 Inspiring Reasons Why You Should Say "No!" More Often

Yes, the Visionary Artists are really on to something special. Thanks for the link. I will definitely check it out.

Thanks for that post... There really is a lot of amazing stuff!!! Went and followed a couple too.

Defenitely will look at your other parts of these posts. I'm jugglong time with all the things I'd like to learn...didgital visonary art is one of em. Thanks for the inspiration

Yes. These guys are great. Thanks for your interest @senorcoconut. More to come.

I'll be watching for more! One of my favorite is @chrisdyer. I really like the (what seems to me) the Mayan influence. Another is Fabian Jiminez's work...In my younger days, everytime I took acid, the skies looked like that a bit.

Yeah Chris Dyer is originally from Peru so there is definitely some of that Mazatec, Andes/Inca influence for sure.

Yes I saw Peru...The Andes, makes more sence than influence from the people of the central american region. There are similarities though.

Definitely. Have a good one @senorcoconut. I'm sure we will speak again soon:)

Same to you @elohprojects. Talk to you later!

Very interesting! And I absolutely love the first painting. That girl looks amazing!

Yes!! Gerard Di-Maccio is perhaps one of the best, all time. Epic. I think the 4th painting of his that I posted is like 128 feet long!!

This is absolutely top notch and indeed VISIONARY work! Thanks for bringing them to our attention. There's absolutely a lot of truth, beauty and energy to behold in them all. They say you turn into that which you surround yoursef with, no wonder your own art is taking on epic proportions... Keep
Up the good work + art Support. Godspeed!
