Pop Art Painting - Being Happy
Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears.
― John Lennon
What is the secret of happiness?
Money?
Fame?
Power?
Having lots of material things?
I would be very happy if I have all those things. Admit it with money, wealth, and power we can achieve a lot of things in life and of course, that makes us happy. But why do the richest people of the world are often miserable then? We read about the rich and the famous killed themselves regularly on the news. What is wrong? Obviously, their wealth and fame couldn't satisfy their deepest need deep in their hearts. Maybe when you are filthy rich and at the top, there is nothing to strive for anymore. Whatever you want, you can always buy them. Well almost.
It would be very very nice if we have all those monies but the truth is, not everyone is blessed with fame, money or material wealth. A lot of folks out there are struggling to make ends meet every single month. And yet they still manage to find happiness in their life.
Personally for me, we can be happy when we are content with our lot in life. If we have a roof above our head, food in our belly, a place to sleep and generally in good health and safe, that is good enough.
We also can be happy when we choose to be grateful. Be grateful for every single thing we have in life because there are many less fortunate people around us, people who yearn to have what we have.
And happiness can be obtained when we step out from our comfort zone to extend a help to someone in need. When we help others, we have the chance to make others happy. For me, helping those in need is a way to extend God's grace to them because we are God's hands in this world.
Having said that, I would like to encourage my readers to help a fellow Steemian in need. @fatpandadesign is the chief commando of #theunmentionables. I am not in their Discord channel yet but I heard some good things about it. You can read the fundraising post for @fatpandadesign here: Benjamin Schwartz aka fatpandadesign : We are here for you
