Have you ever.
Wanted to take Time and Space.
By the hand. And go wherever they lead you?

~Ally.

Why do you go away?
So that you can come back.

So that you can see the place you
Came from. With new eyes and extra colours.

Coming back to where you started
Is not exactly the same as never leaving.

~Terry Pratchett. A Hat Full of Sky.

Travelling Lady.

Travelling Lady was one of my very early collages. Made in the pre-photoshop era. Handcut black and white photocopies of images from magazines, coloured with coloured pencil. This image illustrates the first additions of natural elements, like sand and seeds into my image making.

The collage was made for a friend who has the most wonderful spirit of adventure and an insatiable love of traveling. She loves the ocean and mountains, earth and stars, and had recently returned from a trip down the Nile.

Re-learning Photoshop.

For the last few weeks, I've been ever so slowly re-teaching myself how to work with Photoshop because I wanted to create some appealing Header Images for both my new MakersPlace Gallery as well as my still coming Homesteaders Coop Store.

MakersPlace.

A digital creation can easily be copied and shared across the internet and so it's challenging for many visual artists to earn an income from the work they share online. MakersPlace uses blockchain technology to help creators protect and sell their unique one-of-a-kind or limited edition creations.

To find out how to create and sell your unique digital creations go to MakersPlace: Creators.

For Collectors.

When you purchase a unique digital creation you will be given full ownership over the one-of-a-kind or limited edition creation, which is transferred and stored in your digital wallet.

Collectors can create their own Gallery from any of the digital creations at MakersPlace. They can also resell any of their collected works at MakersPlace or on any digital asset exchange.

To find out how to discover and collect unique digital creations go to MakersPlace.

My MakersPlace Gallery.

My MakersPlace Gallery currently houses 25 digital images of my ephemeral art pieces as well as some of my seascape photography. Each image is available in a limited edition of 12.

Photographs and drawings of the ‘magical wands and hats, poles and small sculptures' that I've recently started to make will be included in my next range of limited edition digital reproductions.

My Homesteaders Co-op Store.

My Homesteaders Co-op Store will be called Eco Curios and it will offer handmade artifacts and curios made with natural and biodegradable materials.

Feathers have featured in many of my ephemeral art pieces and I’m currently making a range of eco-friendly products that will also incorporate them: Magical wands and hats, poles and small sculptures, and eventually small figures.

This is the Header Image for my Eco Curios Homesteaders Co-op Store. Unfortunately its the only preview I can give you at the moment, until there are some products in my store now.

Which leads me to my next topic: Two weeks Holiday.

Two weeks Holiday.

I need to go away.
Listen to my heart's yearning.
To play with my art making. Without concern.

So I will feel.
The flowering of this place.
Where creativity connects all the dots.

And taking the hand.
Of Time and Space. Going wherever.
They lead me. I shall return with magical wands.
Wizard hats and poles. Perhaps some NEW collages too.

So it's not like I'm leaving ~ Just a fond Au Revoir for the next two weeks.

COMING SOON: Magical Wands.

Just a glimpse of my first Magical Wand: One of the products that I'm making from eco-friendly materials, exclusively for my Homesteaders Co-op store.

All the feathers in the wand were freely given by the wild ducks at the Roseville Lake.

Imagine.
All the wonderful things.
That you could wish for. If you had:
A MAGICAL WAND.

~Ally.

Oh Ally, it so beautiful😊 I am not at my studio now to see it in a bigger screen so I will come back with a better comment later 😊

Posted using Partiko Android

Yes it is more beautiful in full screen:) It has this handmade feeling and all the images are balanced and connected:) Good luck with your new stores, wands are looking very cool:):)

Thanks so much @georgeboya.

I started working with collage at a time when I didn't have continuous time to work with my painting. And have loved 'making things' ever since. So pleased you like the wands. Still working on them and some small collages using similar elements. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

MAGICAL MOMENTS.wands.png

Yes the wands are amazing and very good idea:) You are a very creative person Ally:)

wow, I love this! super beautiful. I also do collages, but still the old fashioned way, cutting out of magazines and pasting onto huge boards. I've always wanted to learn how to do it in Photoshop - I mean, I know how to use the pencil tool lol - I am sure I can do it.

Also, on PS I am sure you can save your cut outs and reuse them, so you could even build your own library. Hmm, I must do some research on this!

Thanks for sharing the Makers Place info with us, I am excited to check it out.

So pleased you like this piece @princessmewmew.

I still like the hand-cut way of making collages too. I like manually choosing, arranging and rearranging all the different elements, one at a time, till something says 'YES.'

I worked with this image and another image I've just shared now Waiting with Photoshop. Merging the two images ~ And then making a video with all the transitions. Very labour intensive. Much easier to do transitions for videos now with Filmora.

Congratulations about having your images at MakersPlace Gallery!!! What a great success!

Thanks so much @goldendawne. The MakersPlace Gallery is getting better all the time. They have recently introduced Categories. It's a great way for artists to group their images. Still trying to work out how to work with Ethereum though. Not that it's all that urgent at the moment. 😊

Love! Love! Love! You are magical, my friend ♥ May your holiday be blessed with unlimited inspirations...

Holiday has been unexpectedly interrupted Liza. I just posted another collage by mistake. Waiting.

So pleased you liked Travelling Lady ~ Playing with some new collages with similar materials to those used for the wands ~ Also playing with Art Journaling a little. Loving the 'solid' art time. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

MAGICAL MOMENTS.wands.png

Whoa this is the first time that I've seen your collage artwork. You're so full of surprises, and those are the good kind of surprises ^_^.

A nice and fantastic collage, it really gives that adventuring feeling, traveling to the pyramid with a desert that is full with water and space seems so close by. What a nice gift that you made to your friend :).

And have fun with your art holiday. I hope you will be abuzz with creativity from morning to night time. Just don't forget to eat. Have fun!!!

So pleased you like this work @scrawly. I love how images come together working with collage. Having someone in mind, gives me a starting point for what sort of images to look for but it's always the 'unexpected' images that make a work more interesting. Like using stretches of golden water instead of stretches of sand.

Having longer stretches of time has been amazing. Funny that you say not to forget to eat though. Everything becomes dictated by the 'art making' ~ And breakfast is more like lunchtime at the moment. Today I've been experimenting with photocopy transferring as part of Art Journaling techniques ~ Should be easy, but it's taking time to 'get it right.' ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

MAGICAL MOMENTS.wands.png

Always liked collages. Yours is of course particularly beautiful!

Thanks so much for your wonderful compliment @reinhard-schmid.

Sharing this collage has prompted me to look at doing more collage work again. Only using my own images now. Whenever possible ~ Sometimes we do need to use other resources. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

MAGICAL MOMENTS.wands.png

Nice! I enjoyed the old school collaging! My oldest daughter has started doing this sort of thing (not quite as good though...), and she really enjoys it! She loves her knutsel-ling or crafting... she's pretty decent at it too!

Thanks so much @bengy. It's a wonderful art form for people starting to work with image making, as it's so versatiles. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

MAGICAL MOMENTS.wands.png

Wow, it's cool and I love this! I love the collage.

Thanks ever so much @amalinavia. It's interesting for me to start working with new collage pieces again at the moment. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

MAGICAL MOMENTS.wands.png

I love the collage! It's such a wonderful piece of work! There is something extra-special about pre-PhotoShop work! Bravo!

Thanks ever so much @kittygirl. Truer now perhaps than it was when PS first started to be explored by artists. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
