Scavenger Studio
Located in the Puget Sound area of Washington State, the Scavenger Studio is a beautiful 65 m2 artist cabin designed by Eerkes Architects.
The modern structure is in a clearing surrounded by wood and has many windows to frame the views of nature. Much of the construction was done using materials recovered from surrounding homes that had to be demolished. The layout includes a kitchen and living room on the ground floor, while the second level has a loft with window, accessible by a steel staircase. The exterior is covered with charred plywood to obtain this dark appearance. A red sign next to the bed in the loft slides down for ventilation and for better views. Simple and unfinished plywood is used for ceilings and Isorel is used on floors.
