My Actifit Report Card: June 20 2019
A day with fog rain and thunder
Today we had a mix of weather, with nice blue skies as I was catching the train, through to thick fog in the city ( see the last photo), its too boring a photo to put first but shows how dense the fog was, then we had rain and lightning where I stayed indoors for the most part and hence a lower step count today but I managed to get my 10K weekday goal in plus a little extra
So let's start with the blue Skies as I waited for the train this morning, this was a little before 5 AM

And moving front he tracks to the terminal, funny how everyone ignores the stop sign, of course.
Most had headed directly into the terminal, But a few walk this way down beside the tracks

Here is a shot of people walking through the main terminal. Bear in mind this is around 6:45 in the morning so thats when the station is quiet, it gets a lot busier later in the morning

Zari’s does good business in the morning you can see people Queuing up there as I walked past

And finishing off with the shot I mentioned at the start looking across the east River, and you cant even see a hint of Long Island City , OK if you quint maybe you can see a hint of it on the left, that little island is in the Middle of the East River and just barely visible

Ohh yes the terminal has a life of its own especially at peak times mind you I try to avoid peak times as I hate crowds
When you retire, you will look back on these memories and wonder how you ever managed to complete your day, or rather, get up and do it all over again, and smile. Well, perhaps the smile is overstating it. LOL
The trek from the Metro/Subway to the office is never direct or short. That is how the mileage is put in. You have an amazing body that won't quit, even when you are under the weather, you are putting in more steps than mere mortals.
I love the shots at Grand Central and the swim upstream that all you salmon make. Great post and congrats on another week of overstepping! ;)

Thanks for your visit, I was surprised with my steps today I thought I had taken it easy as I was feeling a bit run down today I think all this grey weather is getting to me lets hope the forecast is right and we will see some Sun on the weekend,
and to me its not really a lot of steps, I just get achy legs if I sit for two long and I much prefer getting up and walking to see someone than make a phone call if on the same floor or even sometimes in the same building, and sometimes in the same city LOL and lastly trust me I have slowed down the number si get these would have been a real slow for me just a few years ago.
Yes I think you are right I will findit such a change when I retire, I know I will still wake at the same time, and be wonderign what I will do but I also know me and I will find things to do and do lots more photowalks being in a new area will make that interesting and I will no doubt do at least one maybe a few day trips to Boston only an hour away and Providence only a little over half an hour away , and slowly making a list of places I want to visit
But that all said I think it will take me a while to adjust to not heading to the train each morning and into work but not too much LOL
That reminds me I have some other shots of Outside Grand Central to share, I guess I could consider Grand Central a Market ;)
We finally have a couple of nice days lined up this weekend. I am excited to get out and enjoy some of it. Fog can be really scary, especially driving in it. It would probably be cool to ride a train in it though..
your right driving in fog isnt so much fun, Luckily at the time I drive to the train and its only about a mile there was hardly anyone else on the road, seeing it from the train was fun, I should have done a short video of part of the trip Ohh well maybe next time
our forecast for the weekend is also sunny I am looking forward to it

It was rainy and cold here yesterday so I didn't get out much either.
That first picture really has "the sun hasn't come up yet" dark blue to it.
I catch the train before sunrise every working day, I much prefer it at this time of year, when we get some color while waiting for the train most of the year its still dark when I get on the train

I will have to get some new shots at the train station with my camera and not my phone. I didn't mention in in the post but that first photo up at the station on the other side of the platform is one of mine they chose to display there
