Traveling the World #66 (Europe Series) Explore Edinburgh City @ Scotland - 探索愛丁堡市 @ 蘇格蘭 (1)

A few days ago, I have taken you to Scotland's Edinburgh Castle & Forsyth's Tea Room and today I'll start taking you around Edinburgh city. You can find my post for Edinburgh Castle and Forsyth's Tea Room here & here. Edinburgh City is a beautiful city and is a lot busier than what I expected. My friends and I came here for the weekend from London and thinking I would be away from chaotic London, I will get some quiet time exploring the city. The moment we stepped off the train, the crowd was already there waiting for us.

前幾天我帶你們到蘇格蘭的愛丁堡城堡和Forsyth's 茶館而今天我會帶你們看看愛丁堡這個美麗的城市．你可以在這裏和這裏翻看之前的兩篇文章．愛丁堡是一個很漂亮的城市已比我想像中繁忙．我跟朋友在一個週末到愛丁堡看看但沒有想到原來跟倫敦差不多繁忙．我們一下火車就已已經很擠的。

My friends who are based in London organised train tickets for us and reserved our seats prior to us arriving in London. The train ride was pretty comfortable and we all got some rest except for our male friend who had to do some work during the whole train ride. The train ticket was not cheap and it costs from memory 150 pounds. It was a long train ride and we got to Edinburgh by the afternoon. The weather was great!

因為朋友長期在倫敦居住所以他們預早安排火車票．整個旅程都非常舒服而我們可以有一點時間休息除了我們的朋友，他要在火車上工作．從倫敦到愛丁堡的車票不是很便宜，印象中要差不多150磅。因為火車的路程比較遠所以到愛丁堡已經是下午時分．我們很幸運天氣很好啊！

We decided to walk to our accommodation as it wasn‘t too far from the station and we took this opportunity to explore the city as well. The first attraction we saw was the Scott Monument a monument dedicated to Scottish author Sir Walter Scott. It has a gothic finish and is considered the largest monument dedicated to a writing in the world. It is located right outside the main strip of department stores and near Edinburgh Castle - you won't miss it!

到步之後我們決定走路到我們訂好的酒店因為從火車站做過去其實不是很遠而可以用這個機會看看愛丁堡這個城市．我們看到第一個景點就是司各特纪念塔. 這個紀念塔是來紀念蘇格蘭作家沃爾特·司各特的。這個塔有點像哥德風格的而是在世界上最大給一個作家的紀念塔。這個塔是在愛丁堡商店街對面和火車站附近 - 你一定會看到的。

As we walked along the streets in this pretty city, we noticed that a lot of the buildings all looked very "old". It gives the vibe that we have landed back in the old times and the only thing thats changed are cars driving around rather than horse carriages.

我們發現很多建築物都很像跟以前的年代一模一樣那麼古老的．感覺有一點像回到以前的時代而不一樣的就是現在有車輛在街上而不是馬車．

This is the Princes Street Gardens. It is a park in the centre of Edinburgh with the castle & Scott Monument in the background. There were many people have a relaxing stroll, take a nice break or just enjoying the scenery around them.

這裡是王子大街花园。 這個花園是在愛丁堡市中心。在這裡你可以看到一點愛丁堡城堡和和司各特纪念塔。我們看見很多人在這裡散步，休息和享受周圍的環境。

As we were walking towards Playfair Steps, there were some markets set up and were very popular with the tourists and locals.

我們開始走到 Playfair 樓梯的方向看到原來有一點攤檔賣不同的東西而很受遊客和本地人歡迎。
