Traveling the World #65 (Europe Series) Edinburgh Castle @ Edinburgh, Scotland - 愛丁堡城堡 @ 愛丁堡，蘇格蘭

Today I’ll be taking you Edinburgh Castle in the city of Edinburgh, Scotland. Yesterday we started our adventure in Edinburgh at the little teahouse called Forsyth’s Tea Room. If you have missed the blog yesterday, you can find it here

今天我會帶你們到愛丁堡城堡看看。城堡是在愛丁堡，蘇格蘭市中心。昨天我帶你們到一家茶室叫 Forsyth’s Tea Room 而今天我們繼續遊愛丁堡。

Before going to Edinburgh, my friends and I were doing some research and found that the castle was actually sitting on top of Castle Rock. Castle Rock is a volcanic plug which was formed approximately 350 million years ago source. The rock and the castle can both be seen clearly from the streets right in the middle of the city.

來愛丁堡之前，我跟朋友做看了一點資料說城堡其實坐在一個城堡岩上面。城堡岩是一個火山栓而原來已經有三億五千万年歷史的。 很誇張啊！source. 城堡岩和城堡在市區的街上可以很清楚看到的。

While we were at Edinburgh, the Military Tattoo was setting up. Unfortunately due to our last minute plans to visit Edinburgh, we were not able to get tickets to see the show. The Military Tattoo is an annual series of military tattoos performed by British Armed Forces, Commonwealth and international military bands in front of the castle. I hope next time when we visit Edinburgh again, we will be able to see the Military Tattoos.

我們在愛丁堡其間，一年一度的愛丁堡軍操表演在周末舉行．因為今次來愛丁堡是沒有很早計劃，所以我們買不到飛來看表演．愛丁堡軍操表演是軍操和文化表演而地點每年都是在城堡前面舉行的。希望下一次到愛丁堡我們可以有機會看這個表演。

The first impression of the castle is that it doesn’t look that old like what we had read prior to arriving. It looked like it has been very well maintained by the related department.

我第一眼看這座城堡感覺不是很舊的因為來之前看的資料說城堡應該是很'老'的。我想是當地政府非常保護這座城堡所以外觀修理得非常好。

It is highly recommended that you book your tickets ahead of time avoid queues like this.

我建議來之前最好在網上訂門票因為如果沒有的話，你要跟那麼多人排隊買票

從城堡看，愛丁堡軍操表演的場地都差不多搞好了。

From the castle you get some great views of the city. It is recommended that you come on a fine day as there is an open area and wear some comfy shoes. The castle grounds itself has alot of space so it didn’t feel crowded at all - the most people we saw was at the ticket gates.

在城堡裡，你可以看到愛丁堡很美的風景。我建議在好天氣才來參觀城堡因為很多地方都是戶外的。還有要穿一對舒服的鞋子。城堡裡地方非常大所以除了在門口排隊買票的人多，其實其他地方都是很安靜。

Can you see what is hanging from the crane? Its people there eating and drinking from above the city. I’m scared of heights so there was no way I was going to eat a proper meal from that high up.

你看到這個吊車在吊什麼。是一間空中餐廳！是的，在天空上吃飯。我有點怕高所以肯定不會試這個東西哈哈。
