My Actifit Report Card: May 7 2019
A short walk to the office
Today I had an early meeting so couldn’t get a good walk in before work, but I did get a few shots of things I passed this morning.
There are many ways in and out of Grand Central and i often go a different way each day of the week, Today I headed out from the main Concourse put the escalators ad out through this exit

Now I did mention I didn’t have time for my usual longer walk this morning but I did have about 25 Minutes before I had to be in the office for my first meeting so I did not exactly take the straight route to the office.
Now my Iphone came up with the notification t though I was doing an outdoor walk workout and did I want to record it, which I normally just dismiss, but this morning I decided to do it and walk a Mile before grabbing breakfast.
When It finished I noticed t tracks a map of where I walked why I will share below, as you can see even when I have limited timeI seldom walk the direct and quickest path to my office building
as you can see I was zig zagging all over even on this short walk, and I snapped a few shots with my phone of what I passed on the walk,
I have shared a few photos in the Dag Hammarskjold ark, but I do not think I have ever shared a shot of the Dag Hammarskjold building across from the park, or in this case the fountain and the Bust of him in the entrance tot he building

My walk took me past a couple of the Eduardo Kobra murals that I have shown in posts before but they are both so cool I thoughI would share shots of them again
Firstly the 911 Firefighter

You may think it has been raining with the wet ground in the last shot, but as I have mentioned before it is quite common to see workers washing down the footpaths each morning, this is just to the left of my previous shot and this worker has a big area to spray down.

And here we have Kobras Einstein Mural

And I finished off my walk grabbing something to eat from a local Deli, which I didn’t get a shot of so instead I will share this street side vendor just near the end of my walk.

So my walk to the office was just over a mile, and about 2300 Steps so not all the steps I did today I had meetings in different buildings and went for a walk after lunch which brought up my step total for today, but generally a quiet step count for me today, manly because of lots of meetings and an overcast and dull day, but at least it wasn’t raining :)
unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

Oh, yeah!! You are still rocking that city, years after your arrival. I am glad to see someone else walk the way I do on a normal basis. Wherever my feet take me, or the sights look good. That tickled me pink.
I do love the Dag Hammarskjold ark and building! That still reminds me of Jonah and the whale, every time I get a look at it. The building and fountain garner its own attention with the way morning light hit the water off the fountains and against its architecture. I still love meandering the city streets.
Eduardo Kobra and his various murals are eye-popping pieces of art, I am really fond of Einstein and his grin as he pedals down the building. Oh, yes. It might have been short on the steps, but, heavy on the looks.
Thank you and good morning! Have yourself a fabulous day!!

Ohh I have not seen the Dag Hammarskjold Ark Yes how did i miss it LOL I must go look for it 😂
Sorry I could not resist
But yes the Building and Park its such a lovely area
As you know I do love Kobra’s Murals so had to share shots of them again
Dag I didn’t even take any photos on this mornings walk, but I did get semi Geographically embarrassed LOL
You have a wonderful day
Because of this post!!!! I missed doing a #WednesdayWalk and I have on sort of put together!
You know how I have been posting once, well you just made me have to post twice today! LOL
Ohh yes blame me I see how it is lol 😂
I did a walk as you know this morning before work but forgot two things which way it was to the office and to take photos lol
well, you do know that it's easier to blame everything on you as opposed to taking it upon myself? This leaves a lot more room.
Do we need to be sending a monitor with you so that you don't get lost on your way to work? Or is this your way of saying that you're almost ready to get lost! As in, to leave work?
LOL It’s OK I have brad shoulders and used to people blaming me even If often they are right LOL
NO I think I have got my internal GPS back on track now so I should be safe to find my way around now, I wish I was leaving now but alas its a little too early
Thanks so much I appreciate the resteem :)

Great job! That notification is from the actifit app? I have iPhone 7 Plus, I would like to see my walks on the map. 😉
the actifit table at the bottom of the post is from the actifit app, the map of where i walked is from the apple activity app, it sometimes pops up on my watch saying it had detected I am doing an outdoor walk and if you accept it, it then tracks your steps and creates the map
Ohhh ok. I have an Apple Watch but I don’t wear it because I have to put my reading glasses on, it’s such a hassle with these glasses. I have 20/20 vision for distance but I must put them on when reading. I wish I can teach myself how to use those progressive glasses but it’s impossible... I tried several times and I walk like a zombie with those damn glasses on. 🤓
My wife is the same she cannot use progressives at all, I am too lazy to switch glasses and I need for both but luckily they work for me

Ohh yes there is always something to see in the city no matter where you walk, never boring
For such a small food cart, they have a lot of menu items. I'm so out of shape I don't think I could take a zig zag walk like that without being exhausted. lol. The Dag Hammarskjold bust is kind of creepy. I have no idea who that is but it's a strange but interesting setup for the bust with all the water in front.
I didnt do too much walking the rest of the day and it was only a mile so I did fine :) the bust is a statue of just his head but yes it is a little creepy lOL
Nice images of the city. It looks like a nice diversion from the direct route! It's very nice that you're able to walk to work. The Midwest is very car-centric, especially in smaller towns.
Thanks, and no I cant walk all the way to work I take a drive to the train station, about 15 Minutes and an hour 45 Minute train ride into NYC, and then walk to work :)
Great step count.. cool walk.. crazy map.. !tip
Thanks, if I mapped all my walks many would be like this I tend to zig and zag all over when I see something down a side street and go check it out lOL
