James Daimon apologized for Bitcoin
The head of JP Morgan Chase James Daimon admitted that he regrets that last year called Bitcoin fraud, but said that he still does not care about the cryptocurrency.
Mr. Dimon in an interview with Fox Business admitted that he regrets that in September 2017 he called the cryptocurrency fraud worse than "tulip fever".
He said:
"I regret what I did (such comments)."
Expert also admitted that the blockchain system works quite efficiently and allows issuing "crypto yen", "crypto dollar" and other new cryptocurrencies.
James Daimon summed up:
"I just have a different opinion about Bitcoin than other people. I’m not interested in it at all."
Earlier, the head of JP Morgan called Bitcoin "fraud" and compared the most popular at the moment digital coin with "tulip mania" in Holland in 1636-1637, which "will end badly."
In 2013 JP Morgan paid the US Justice Department a record fine of $13 billion on fraud charges with mortgage-backed securities and in terms of using technologies associated with cryptocurrencies for the benefit of the company.
In the same 2013 JP Morgan filed an application for the registration of a patent in the United States on the use of an electronic payment system that uses certain aspects of what a few years later James Daimon would call "fraud".
