Introduction: @OffgridLife

I go by @OffgridLife here on Steemit because I have been interested with the idea of Living completely Off the Grid and totally self-sufficient for a very long time. I am not there yet.....

With 2 young kids we need to be close to schools and family but we are designing a very small structure and searching for land where we can build. The intention is to have no Grid-Tied Electricity or Municipal Services. In order to blog we will need some form of internet connection and I will share the possibilities for this here in future posts.

Over the years I have learned that one of the most important things when planning to go off the grid is reduced consumption: Energy Conservation and lots of Building Insulation ... If you lower your consumption you need a lot less Solar Power and other forms of alternative energy. So we are presently working our way towards Net Zero. We have cut our Electricity Bill in half with LED Lights and a Timer on our Electrical Panel. I will share the other things we have done to lessen the load.

I am interested in many things. As you can see I am a landscape artist, making oil paintings and watercolours from the kayak or the shore of the rivers and lakes that I have explored here in Canada ...

In addition to living off the grid, art and architecture I am also interested in Cryptocurrency, Philosophy, Ancient Religion, History, Mythologies, Cultures, Science, and the Oneness of the Universe. So as you can see my blog posts will be rather eclectic and sometimes Random. I hope you enjoy what I have to share with you and thanks for Following and upvoting any of the posts you happen to like.
