In my common sense, I mean polite behavior. And subject etiquette refers to the customary code of polite behavior among members of a particular profession or group. Everyone should follow the rules or codes of their own community. Plagiarism is a very strong code among them.

What is Plagiarism?
Plagiarism is the act of presenting someone else's work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent and incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgment. When you take information and content from other people's content in creating content but hide or don't mention where you got the information from. Plagiarism can be intentional or reckless, or unintentional. Intentional or reckless Plagiarism is a punishable offense. You can call it a kind of robbery. There is no innovation or creativity when plagiarism is practiced. Which is cheating. Plagiarism is the use of images, videos, or music in a work you created without obtaining proper permission or providing proper attribution. All published and unpublished material, whether in manuscript, printed, or electronic form, is covered by this definition. Changing the words of an original source is not sufficient to prevent plagiarism. If you have retained the essential idea of an original source, and have not cited it, then no matter how drastically you may have altered its context or presentation, you have still plagiarized Most cases of plagiarism can be avoided, however, by citing sources. Simply acknowledging that certain material has been borrowed, and providing your audience with the information necessary to find that source, is usually enough to prevent plagiarism.

Plagiarism at UNSW is using the words or ideas of others and passing them off as your own. Plagiarism is a type of intellectual theft. Plagiarism can take many forms, from deliberate cheating to accidentally copying from a source without acknowledgment. Consequently, whenever you use the words or ideas of another person in your work, you must acknowledge where they came from.

From the definition above, we can see that plagiarism is when anyone copies from a source without acknowledgment of the author.

According to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

At UNC, plagiarism is defined as “deliberate or reckless representation of another’s words, thoughts, or ideas as one’s own without attribution in connection with submission of academic work, whether graded or otherwise” (Instrument of Student Judicial Governance 5). Because it is considered a form of cheating, the Office of the Dean of Students can punish students who plagiarize with course failure and suspension. Often when students plagiarize, they do not intentionally steal another person’s work. Instead, they plagiarize by accident because they do not have a complete understanding of what constitutes plagiarism. This is what we mean by “reckless.” If you fail to give proper credit to someone else’s ideas because you didn’t know you were supposed to or because you didn’t know how to do so, you face the same consequences as if you intentionally stole someone else’s work. Therefore, it is your responsibility to understand when and how to acknowledge someone else’s contribution.

According to Britannica

plagiarism, is the act of taking the writings of another person and passing them off as one’s own. The fraudulence is closely related to forgery and piracy—practices generally in violation of copyright laws.

If only thoughts are duplicated, and expressed in different words, there is no breach of contract. Also, there is no breach if it can be proved that the duplicated wordage was arrived at independently.

Paraphrasing is plagiarism when a writer reuses another's work and changes some words or phrases. This is a common type of plagiarism. Plagiarism is plagiarism if you present your writing without crediting someone else's original idea.

Self Plagiarism:
It is stealing one's own work. Let's say you wrote an essay earlier. When an article is written for a client, the client owns it. Because you take money from him to do the work. Then when you reuse words from the previous essay when writing an essay for another client, it will be plagiarized and may damage our professional reputation.

Also known as mosaic plagiarism or patchwork plagiarism, we refer to instances where the plagiarized work is linked to the author's original work. This type of theft can be subtle and missed, and it can happen with outright theft. An example of patchwork plagiarism is borrowing text from a source and turning it into your own sentence.

There are some reasons that people do Plagiarism :
• Lacks self-knowledge but has a strong desire to be famous.
• Laziness is another factor.
• Lack of time management skills.
• Inability to select from numerous sources etc.
