Introducing Kohei Ueno: ex-Googler, ex-Stuntman, ex-Bboy, Freedive enthusiast and Underwater addict.

Hello.. Steemits Steemians Steemitans? I’m sorry for being a noob, but hello! nice to meet you :)

My name is Kohei, I was born in Tokyo, raised in Hokkaido, grew up in Singapore, and a permanent resident of Australia. This apparently makes me a Japorearalian.

I worked as (in chronological order) – a breakdance instructor, a dish washer, a hotel clerk, a club promotor, a club organiser, an event organiser, a movie extra, a stuntman, an actor, a model, a marketing assistant, a sales rep, a demand management rep, and most recently a channel partner manager at Google Australia. And now, a camel rider.

2014 was the year when I made the boldest decision of my life, to quit the posh job at Google, sold/gave away all my possessions and packed my life into a 40L backpack to travel around the world, thinking it was cool to explore the true meaning of LIFE and all that stuff, you know, YOLO was a thing back then. (or is it still?)

Anyway, after 3 months of wandering around South East Asia, 6 months motorbiking across South America, and 3 months village-hopping through Eastern Europe and the Middle East, when I reflect back and connect the dots, I can say that it wasn't just cool, but frikkin' life changing. This trip has given me a completely new perspective on this thing called life as cliche as it may sound.

I feel as if I have regained back control of my mind, body, and soul, as well as my health, finances and dreams.

I know these are vague fluffy statements and I promise to explain in more details in future posts, but ever since I came back from my trip I feel more awake to my senses, less vulnerable, and more sensitive to detecting BS and the lies that engulfs our current world.

I basically feel like a captain of my own ship taking control of my own destiny, which is exactly how it led me to this fascinating world of cryptocurrency, and consequently Steemit :)

In my future Steemit posts, I think I'll be sharing a tip or two for those who may be thinking to do something similar, especially for those who are already itching to go on their own adventure, but most importantly, I’m excited to share some of my biggest learnings, experiences and life lessons acquired along the way, and those that I’m continuing to discover to this very day.

It was these experiences that led me to pursue the passion I now have for freediving, photography, and marine conservation, of which when you combine all three, you get something that looks like this:

In my future posts on Steemit, besides the more serious topic on life and all, I also intend to showcase some photos that I've taken over the recent years. I hope my pictures could be used to brighten up your day, and act as a constant reminder of how beautiful our world really is, and how important it is to keep it that way, especially the ocean.

Before i get too carried away though and be tagged as the longest #introduceyourself post ever on Steemit I better end my introduction right here. I hope it was enough to get a glimpse of who I am, and the kind of content you can expect to see from me :)
