Even though the movie, E.T. came out in 1982, here I was at age 3 (circa 1988). The movie gave me nightmares, but I still watched it a half million times. I even let E.T. wear my Baltimore Orioles hat for this photo.

I thought I was on another planet! My parents took me to a place that was like Bedrock from the Flintstones. I thought it was the coolest thing ever, but looking back now... Creepy and equally noastalgic..LOL

The O's hat really brings back memories though (cover image). That was a hat that I got at a game with my father and grandfather. I felt like I could take the field when I put that hat on. We would sit above the dugout at games so we could cheer on the players and joke with them. Incredible memories even parking the car!

I remember once we arrived late and could not find a space to park. My father parked the car on a hill - nearly 45º angle - we all crawled out the passenger side. The car was so tilted sideways the driver door could not open an inch. We came back to it and there was a tow truck driver trying to figure out two things: how the hell my father parked the car like that and also how the hell he was supposed to tow it. Imagine a parking job like this, but on a grass hill with a light post​ at the top:

They would take me to games and I couldn't have cared if the "birds" won or lost - being there was plenty! The memories we had at those games were priceless. It could have been any team, honestly. The company was better than any game. My grandfather was friends with Brookes Robinson and I grew up thinking everyone loved the Orioles!

My Pop would bring me autographed balls and all sorts of Orioles gear. So, E.T. was lucky I was kind enough to let him rock my hat for the picture ​because I wore it proudly then.

I loved to spend time with my grandfather and my father when I was a kid. They were like best friends and that is something I always admired. We never had a dull moment either, there was no way to know what sort of fun was in store. When we went out, we could end up anywhere. We would go to places like the photo above - where a child's imagination would light up! It is no wonder why I am the way I am. I cannot recall where the picture was taken, but I think it might have been the old Enchanted Forest (since closed), in Ellicott City, Maryland.

I am grateful that my son and my father also share the same unpredictable fun. Here are my parents and my son - you can tell they have fun! My son and daughter LOVE going to 'grammy & poppy's'. In fact, they're getting dressed to go now! That is all the time I've got today Steemians, but STEEM ON!! 🔥🚀
