Ultimate Crochet Contest. New Theme AND Contest Winners!!

Alright people!

Here we go with another round of this fantastic contest :D Bringing some mighty fine, handy dandy crocheters together. This time I would like to try to go for a theme.

Next month has St-Patrick's day and even though we are still early for it, I thought that it would be ok to get things ready for it in advance.

So!

For this round, I would like you to make something for the jolly ol' Irish! Doesn't have to be anything super complicated. It can be a decoration, a stuffy, jewelry (crocheted necklace, bracelet etc.) a hat, a wig, even a green beard! Can be a green dress for the young ones, or slippers, a scarf or a bouquet of clovers, even the Lucky Charm guy himself. All up to you. All I want is something to do with St-Patrick's Day.

A little question for you. Since I am making this one themed, should I add an extra week to give more time or is the 2 weeks enough time for you? Please answer this before the 7 days ends, so that when I do put out a reminder, I can notify everyone if it stays or if there is an extension.

Once more, I share here the rules of the game:

  • Write a post about what you created, including one or more pictures. I want to be able to give extra support to my fellow Steemians. A crocheted piece is something to take to heart.

  • You have 2 weeks to send in your piece of art. (This round might be 3 depending on your replies.)

  • Share your post with me by putting up your link in the comments section on this post.

  • I do ask for you to please share this contest. I understand some people have their standards and would rather not, so it is not mandatory. But please know that the more eyes we have on this post the more people will join the contest, take part, build a bigger crochet community and the more chances people will upvote to support, which means you get a bigger prize in the end.

  • An upvote is much appreciated but also not mandatory. The payout of this post is what I can give out for prizes at this moment. The more this post makes, the more you win.

  • I will split the amount between the 3 contest winners. As the contest grows, the more I can give out more rewards.
For everyone that participates I will be resteeming your post and upvoting. My upvote isn't worth much but I am working on that.

Exciting stuff!

Now, on to the winners of the last round!

First place goes to @carolinacardoza!!! Have you seen that belt? It is finely detailed and can match with pretty much almost everything you got in your closet. Adding some delicate feelings and fanciness and even fun to your outfit :D Check out her post by clicking on the image.

Second place goes to @xeliram! She has made Snoopy's best friend, Woodstock for Valentine's day. Brilliant, as it goes with the Snoopy stuffy she madea couple weeks ago. Click on the image and check her out ^_^

And the person to take third place is..... It's a tie! I am unable to make a decision as both posts are nicely written, they both show the process of making their characters and they are both cute, and hold quite a charming personality as well.

Check out their posts by clicking on their images. Tell me if I am wrong to have them at a tie.

Congratulations to all of the winners! In my opinion I don’t see anything wrong with having a tie. I’ve seen this in other competitions as well. I think it’s great that you want to reward more crocheters!

I love the theme and think it’s a great idea! Having a theme helps with inspiration and focuses everyone on a certain task! This will be fun!

Thank you for this contest and for supporting needle crafters and their work!

You are welcome and thank you for your support as well ^_^

I am glad you think the theme is a good idea. I was a bit worried there, thinking that people have other things to do, but I gave it a try anyways. So far, positive results :)

Sure! Oh I think this will be a fun one! 😉

Thank you so much @foxyspirit! Congrats to all the winners - @carolinacardoza, @xeliram and @danmaruschak! Go go crochet! :D

Ooo ol'Irish theme! This will be interesting :) Let me Google and see. I think 2 weeks is still ok with themes. And I think it is cool that you give us a theme to explore and learn :) I am now going to read what St. Patrick's Day is about!

I thought it would be a cool idea to bring it up. A lot of people celebrate it here, if not for being Irish, for the drinking part. A great excuse to get wasted lol. But there is more to it than just drinking. The kids love dressing up all in green, wearing 4 leaf clovers and green top hats, green beaded necklaces and all that. It is a fun event :)

Oh, and you are quite welcome :D

Hey @foxyspirit, here is my simple entry to support this contest :)

The other projects are really beautiful!

Love the projects - and everyone who took part in it is a winner! In my eyes the competition in needlework starts early: it's between you and your project and the vision you have of the finished object. Sometimes it's easy to win, sometimes it's a struggle and sometimes you're defeated - but even if a project becomes an UFO and is hidden deep in a closet, we always learnt from it :)

And I'm starting to think about Irish motives ;)

You are absolutely right :)

I am glad you are thinking Irish :p Any luck? (hehehe Irish pun)

Gracias

Hello! Welcome to the contest! I am sorry for this late reply, I have been sick and still am, but well enough to catch up.

There is still 5 days left for this contest. It runs for 14 days total. Good luck to you and I can't see what you bring to this contest ^_^

It is a lovely thing, isn't it? I love that I can help people grow. It also gives you the limelight for some time. Sharing it so more people can see you and those who join the contest. It helps me help you :p

I don't know whether I have the luck of the Irish, but I have the persistence of the Germans ;) Here is my compliment to St. Patrick:

It can be anything green. It can have other colors too. The main color is green though. :)
