⏺My 5 crypto picks for the next 12 months! #1 STEEM!
This last week I have been suffering from major FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) because I missed a few great investment opportunities. I have decided to take a more serious approach to things now, so that I no longer have to watch my potential profit go down the drain!
This is the first of my top cryptocurrency picks that I feel have the best profit potential over the next 12 months. I will have a total of 5 picks. I will be revealing one in each post. Enjoy!
Of course we are starting the list with the most obvious choice! Steemit is undoubtedly very unique in the way things are being run around here. Never before (at least to my knowledge) has there ever been a social-media platform where any average person can simply join, make a post, and immediately start making money.
I mean, yeah we can talk about YouTube, and Facebook monetization, but that takes far longer to actually start earning anything, and you need to be generating a ton of traffic consistently first too!
The day I joined Steemit, I made an introductory post, and 20 minutes later it was sitting on around $24. I had nothing special. It was simply me introducing myself.. And I made more in 20 minutes here, than I have ever made using Facebook and Instagram combined! LOL!
Steemit definitely has a ton of growth opportunity. I know there are other technicalities that will prevent some people joining. After all, there is obviously a reason why new accounts need to be approved. It is on a blockchain after all! So with that aside, for everyone here already, it's a gold rush!
I can see pricing of STEEM getting to $10 by this time next year. Price has been hovering around the $1 price-point for a couple weeks now, and I think if it can drop under that $1 mark again, we will have an excellent buying opportunity for the ride up.
If you can buy-up at $1, then you should be looking at around 10X your initial amount if price takes us to where it should! Let's see.

If everyone really thinks steem is undervalued, buy it. It will then go up. The market is small enough for big buyers (or sellers) to move the price! So it's up to you.
You have a very fair point my man! It is very much small enough! Let's just contact Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, and ask them to put a couple billion in each.. I reckon we could see $10 :P Better yet, $100 :D

Now, I have an off topic question...why are some posts at Steemit getting hundreds of Upvotes and yet their earning is zero?

Yeah it was because of that downvote.
The post in your example has 220 upvotes, mainly from minnows which are not worth much. The post would prob be worth $30-40. However, it also has a 72% downvote from full time geek. He is a whale and so his one downvote more than negates the 220 ish upvotes
If you asked people who is really after the transaction they stick with steem, to the that steem is more beautiful than BTC, transaction is made in a mili second and 0 fee. But if you askes rich quick investor then they go after the old BTC even its comes with the high transaction fee and very slow.
Yeah man! Well, I'm not sure about 0 fees.. But I agree, we just need to get quality people onto this platform!

to be honest i'm not that impressed with steemit. I invest in cryptocurrencies and thought i would give steemit a go before investing and as an average regular social media user like facebook. Don't get me wrong its a great platform for bloggers and vloggers but for the average person, i think its more of a novelty that they can earn a bit of money but after a while they get frustrated with penny rewards and just abandon there accounts. Its still early days and things could massively improve for mass adoption. So for me steem wouldn't even make my top 10 and il only be keeping around 3% in my crypto portfolio for now. People should make their own judgment though, this is only my opinion and i am no one .
Sweet man, well I don't like putting labels on things.. So I don't want to use names like 'Vlogger' or 'Blogger'.. I mean sure, people who are more experienced in content creation might do better initially, but I believe anyone can do well here. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be writing articles right now haha. I failed writing in school, countless times! But I think just having an adopting mindset, to be able to adapt to any situation will be the deciding factor :)
In terms of the currency, and an investment stand point, yeah I mean it's still in beta. There are still many obstacles that need to be overcome, but I think it definitely has the potential to hit $10. Just thinking of the price point, I think it's worth the risk.

thanks mate. thats awesome that your now writing after failing it in school, you can achieve if you believe. yeah i think it could possibly hit $10 thats why i still hold it in my portfolio, i just think there are better opportunities out there and i have been hearing a few negative things about steemit when i have been researching. People are saying there was a huge pre mine and the devs own 80% of the steem and that they are powering down their steem power. I also dont like the fact if a whale flags any content they disagree with then it will crush any rewards for that post. just a few things to look in to.
Yeah brother of course. There are positives and negatives for everything, and yeah I have considered those aspects, plus a few more. But on an investment stand-point, it's still a great opportunity for a good 12 month buy and hold. I do agree with you however, that there are a ton of really great opportunities to get our hands on.

I totally believe in steem!
It does have a lot of downward pressure from everyday people who sell to support their lifestyle.
However, I think at this point, Steem is hitting the mainstream. With the arrival of dtube, more and more popular u toobers will be arriving, along with all their fans!
Other dapps are being released regularly.
$10 sounds a bit optimistic in the short term. But, once the exchange issues get all worked out, it will get there!

steemit.com resizes your image to 672px wide. And so, if you would resize your picture to 672 or 800 wide, it would save a lot of bandwidth and server space.

Yes, seriously, the page took 15 to 20 seconds to load.
Its me. Its not you.
But it only takes a click to resize images, and you can save bandwidth. And steemit shrinks them down to 672 px. And it does this AFTER, and for each image, which I think is very wasteful on steemit resources.

I use digiKam when editing my photos. Adjusting colors and balances and cropping. Then before outputting the end result, I resize. I guess it is actually 2 clicks, or 3 clicks extra.
672 x 391 is the perfect proportion for thumbnail images.
Also, since I use linux, I could just run it all from the command line:
ffmpeg -i input.jpg -vf resize 672x391 output.jpg
and you can tell it to resize the entire directory.
I think STEEM is undervalued as well. I am optimistic about the price long term. I am not sure about ten dollars though . . it really depends on how btc acts, because STEEM is paired with it . . but I am still bullish on btc, so I do think that both btc and STEEM will go up quite a bit by this time next year. I'd sure love it to be 10 dollars though. I'm thinking a more cautious 4-5 dollars, just as a guess.

This is what drew me in initially, in all honesty. I spent so much time on fb prior to Steemit, and let's face it . . people like to make money I think that STEEM has the potential to reverse it's trend. I'm not so sure in the short term . . so we may go down for a little while before rising again. That being said, I like the way the platform is structured to reward people for committing the platform. It is vitally important to the sustainability of STEEM and Steemit.
It went down a lot now its correcting and will probably go up.
Well, I mean, who knows.. It could drop all the way back down to even 7 cents again.. It's currently just consolidating . But let's hope for the best! :)

Very true my man! Yeah, it's not that it'll continue in any specific direction (up or down), it's purely in consolidation at the moment. Don't underestimate how fast price can go up, however! It could go from $1-$2 within a single day. We could see $4-$5 in the next week even. Time doesn't have too much to do with it, but rather the environment.
I mean, NEO (a crypto coin I've been watching) went up from $10-$50 in like 5 days haha! That was my lesson lol.

A good post, i too think steem has potential for the future, how high the pricing will go, i have no clue, but this is something i would invest in for the long term with no fear of failure!
