Weekly Report #5 as Steem Representative, 9th May to 15th May 2024

This is my fifth weekly report as a Steem Representative, and I am happy to say that this was my favorite month for various reasons, including the fact that, having completed two years on this website, I decided to support two newbies this week.

As you know, I write a regular post keeping them as beneficiaries in my home community, DreamSteem every week. This week I did one extra post in https://steemit.com/trending/hive-117276

I am glad I did an extra post under this program this week, I selected a newbie, @jhalys9, and did one of my regular posts, adding her as one of the beneficiaries.

You might be aware that I have a campaign running. As usual, I am visiting newbies regularly, upvoting the worthy ones, and doing one post keeping one newbie as a beneficiary in one of my weekly posts in my home community, the DreamSteem.

A New Initiative to Help Newbies

But I learned a lesson too, and that made me a little wiser as well as warned me to be a little more careful in the future. One of the newbies whom I supported as a beneficiary was either not aware of the rules or did it on purpose.

I found it once I voted her up, set her as a beneficiary, and visited the tag #newcomer. I saw she had posted the same post in four different communities. I posted my comment on her three posts, telling her that what she did fell under self-plagiarism or spamming the system. She was offline then, but later I received her response.

Now that I am a curator on the Newcomers' Team, I am enjoying reading them, and some of them have the potential to go up within no time. However, being on this team, I am more in touch with newbies, and I can see more and more newbies on my followers' lists. Later I checked and found out that she has deleted them and now posting ethically.

I am devoting more of my time to writing my regular posts, but that's part of the game. I am trying to return to the website what I have been getting from it.

Back to my aim, which is to help the newbies and the ones who do not get the needed support that will keep them interested, I did two posts this week, and as curator for the Newcomer Community, I supported 55 newcomers.

I started a contest to support newbies in which I have offered a 5x100 SP delegation for one month so they can post and answer besides offering 2 SP in their wallet to worthy new users.

Besides, during my visits, I tell them how to do it correctly if I find any new users making any basic mistakes. For instance, a new user used burnsteem25 without setting null as a beneficiary, so I suggested they remove that tag.

As I said while scouting for the newbies, I did my regular posts, including one power-up post, as I aim to reach my 30k Steem status as soon as possible, so I am powering up every Steem and maintaining my club100 status right from he beginning and intend to keep doing the same. I powered up SP this week and will have one more Powr-Up on this weekend.

As a moderator of Travel Steem, I am doing my regular duty on my assigned day, and as I mentioned, we are expecting to get the opportunity to get SEC in the coming season. In this community, I also make sure that, as a moderator of Traveling Steem if I see a newbie who needs my help, I try my best to support them by voting them up as per their post quality. I am proud to say that I support all good posts, even if I have to go a bit out of the way.

As a Steem Curator, I am doing my duty and trying to help worthy users even if they have not acquired club status. Here, I present my regular activities for the week through this screenshot.

As I said, we in the Dream Steem Community support all Steemians through various methods, so I set the community as a beneficiary in all our posts, along with Burnsteem, which helps different causes, including the cause of newbies. We do not ask anyone to upvote us or keep us as beneficiaries, but we support all equally.

Last week, I participated in two challenge contests and performed at par, and despite my busy schedule I did two diary posts and engaged in interaction as much as I could. This week I have participated in one due to my curation session and preparing the curation report for the second week for the Newxomers' Team,

Let me admit there was nothing extraordinary apart from a lesson from a newbie this week and my best efforts to visit various posts by newbies and regular Steemians to understand how we can make this platform better. I have a few suggestions which I have conveyed through my post in CryptoAcedemy, I hope have not gone too far by expressing my views openly.

In the end, as a Steem Representative, I always think beyond any specific country or community and support everyone on the platform on an equal basis. Last but not least, thanks to my co-founder, @weisser-rabe, for all she does for the DreamSteem community and the Steemit platform in general.
